Daily Bible Nugget #52, Romans 3:23

The Nugget:

Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

My Comment:

As well known and basic as this verse is, I suspect we do not fully understand what it teaches. Clearly it teaches that all have sinned. We know from other Scripture verses that God will not allow sin in His presence, or in His heaven. Those are important concepts, because if one does not know he or she is lost, he or she will not understand the need for being saved. Paul tells us that we have all come short of the glory of God. But for many of us, the words “come short of the glory of God” are like a foreign language, even though we read them in English. One way to better understand what Paul meant is to study out and read all the cross references given for this part of the verse. I have furnished below more cross references for this clause than you are likely to find anywhere else. The Bible does explain itself.

For those who desire to DIG DEEPER into this subject:

(1) Consult the cross references given in Nelson’s Cross Reference Guide to the Bible on page 1277 for Romans 3:23.

(2) Consult the cross references given in The New Treasury of Scripture Knowledge on page 1297 or in Logos 5 Bible software for Romans 3:23.

(3) Lacking access to those two resources, consult the cross references for this passage as I have developed them as given below:
