My Comment:
Notice that in Romans 1:2 the Bible refers to itself as the Holy Scriptures. There are a number of other names by which the Bible is called within its own pages, and these are instructive. (1) The Word, James 1:21-23. 1 Peter 2:2. (2) The Word of God, Luke 11:28. Hebrews 4:12. (3) The Word of Christ, Colossians 3:16. (4) The Word of truth, James 1:18. (5) The Holy Scriptures, Romans 1:2. (6) The Scripture of truth, Daniel 10:21. (7) The Book, Psalm 40:7. Revelation 22:19. (8) The Book of the Lord, Isaiah 34:16. (9) The Book of the law, Nehemiah 8:3. Galatians 3:10. (10) The Law of the Lord, Psalm 1:2. Isaiah 30:9. (11) The Sword of the Spirit, Ephesians 6:17. (12) The Oracles of God, Romans 3:2. 1 Peter 4:11. I have taken these titles of Scripture given within the Bible itself from The New Topical Textbook, page 239. Each of these passages containing the titles the Bible gives itself is worthy of careful study using cross references.
