Psalm 32:5 I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.
My Comment:
Here is a verse from the Old Testament about forgiveness and how to obtain it. I think it is just as clear as 1 John 1:9 in the New Testament. Either passage teaches clearly that forgiveness can be obtained by going directly to God in the manner this verse describes. The Psalmist was certain that he received forgiveness. On the same basis, we can be certain too.
