Daily Bible Nugget #54, Isaiah 64:6

The Nugget:

Isaiah 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

My Comment:

This is one of the clearest and strongest statements in the Bible telling us that our own righteousness amounts to nothing in the sight of God. While God surely wants everyone to be righteous, no one can be righteous in their own strength. To be righteous, we must trust in Jesus Christ as our Savior and receive eternal life by continuing to believe and obey Him.
