Daily Bible Nugget #749, Proverbs 25:5

The Nugget:

Pro 25:5  Take away the wicked from before the king, and his throne shall be established in righteousness. (KJV)

Pro 25:5  Keep evil advisers away from the king and his government will be known for its justice. (GNB, Good News Bible)

Pro 25:5 Take away evil-doers from before the king, and the seat of his power will be made strong in righteousness. (BBE, Bible in Basic English)

Pro 25:5  Slay the ungodly from before the king, and his throne shall prosper in righteousness. (LXX, Brenton translation)

Pro 25:5  And if you purge corruption from the kingdom, a king’s reign will be established in righteousness. (TPT, The Passion Translation)

Pro 25:5  Take a wicked person away from the presence of a king, and justice will make his throne secure. (GW, God’s Word translation)

Pro 25:5 Evil people must be removed before anyone can rule with justice. (CEV, Contemporary English Version)

My Comment:

Though the Bible was written long ago, its wisdom is still much needed today.

Proverbs 25:5, especially when read in multiple translations, looks to me like it is very pertinent to recent and contemporary political issues.

We must be very careful who we support for elective office! We must be very careful to supervise the education our children receive.

2 Chronicles 19:2
2  And Jehu the son of Hanani the seer went out to meet him, and said to king Jehoshaphat, Shouldest thou help the ungodly, and love them that hate the LORD? therefore is wrath upon thee from before the LORD.
King James Version

We must not support in any way policies that are morally wrong in the light of what the Bible teaches.

Proverbs 11:2
2  When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom.
King James Version

Proverbs 16:5
5  Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD: though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished.
King James Version

Ephesians 5:11  And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.
Eph 5:12  For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.

Acts 4:19
19  But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye.
King James Version

Acts 5:29
29  Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.
King James Version

Ephesians 6:4
4  And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
King James Version

Daily Bible Nugget #748, 1 Timothy 2:5

The Nugget:

1Ti 2:5  For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

My Comment:

There are some who believe it is right to pray to the saints in heaven, asking them to intercede on our behalf.

This is, from a correct Bible interpretation view, a totally mistaken practice.

I find Isaiah 63:16 to be a passage that relates to the issue of saints in heaven being aware of us or our specific prayers–plainly, they are not:

Isaiah 63:16
16  Doubtless thou art our father, though Abraham be ignorant of us, and Israel acknowledge us not: thou, O LORD, art our father, our redeemer; thy name is from everlasting.
King James Version

Isa 63:16 For you are our father, though Abraham has no knowledge of us, and Israel gives no thought to us: you, O Lord, are our father; from the earliest days you have taken up our cause. (BBE, Bible in Basic English)

Isa 63:16  You are our Father. Even though Abraham doesn’t know us and Israel doesn’t pay attention to us, O LORD, you are our Father. Your name is our Defender From Everlasting. (GW, God’s Word translation)

If neither Abraham nor Jacob (Israel) have any “knowledge of us” and have no “thought of us,” it would appear that no other human beings in heaven do either.

The Scripture clearly declares that our Lord Jesus Christ is in heaven interceding for us (1 Timothy 2:5):

1Ti 2:5  For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; (KJV)

For a deeper study of this subject, here are my notes and cross references for 1 Timothy 2:5 as given in The Ultimate Cross Reference Treasury:

1 Timothy 2:5
one God. +*Deut 6:4 note. *Isa 44:6; *Isa 45:22, +**Mat 28:19, +*Mar 12:29, 30, 31, 32, 33, **Joh 17:3, Rom 3:29, 30; Rom 10:12; Rom 16:27, +*1Co 8:4; +*1Co 8:6, Gal 3:20, +*Eph 4:5; +*Eph 4:6, Jas 2:19.

and one mediator. Gr. mesistēs (S# G3316, Gal 3:19). There is no basis in Scripture to introduce additional intermediaries such as Mary the mother of Jesus or the saints. To do so is directly contrary to the explicit teaching of God’s Word in Scripture in this text, and contradicts the statement of Jesus that no one can come to the Father but through Him (Joh 14:6). Neither Mary nor any other saint in heaven is aware of what now transpires upon earth (Isa 63:16, 1Co 15:23), though they are very much alive (Luk 20:38; Luk 23:43 note). =Exo 33:8; =Exo 33:9; Exo 34:3, Lev 4:10; *Lev 16:17, Num 4:16, Deut 18:15; Deut 18:18, 1Sa 2:25, *Job 9:33, Psa 130:7, Isa 53:12, Jer 30:13, **Joh 14:6, **Act 4:12, Rom 8:34, 1Co 8:6, 2Co 11:4, +Gal 3:20, Col 2:19, **Heb 7:25; Heb 8:6; *Heb 9:15; *Heb 12:24, **1Jn 2:1.

the man. A straightforward reading of this text indicates that Jesus is still a man, even while He is now in heaven. The Jehovah’s Witness doctrine that Jesus Christ is the archangel Michael (1Th 4:16 note), and is no longer a man, directly contradicts this declaration of Paul that Jesus is still a man, not an angel (Heb 1:4, 5, 6; Heb 2:16), though now in heaven as our one mediator. The Jehovah’s Witnesses further demonstrate their lack of Bible understanding when they argue that Jesus is no longer a man with a human nature, for, they argue, Jesus can never return as a man in his human body, for that would be to take his sacrifice back, and invalidate the Atonement He accomplished. Such a view on their part shows their ignorance of this Scripture, where Paul distinctly refers to Jesus as “the man Christ Jesus.” Jehovah’s Witnesses are clearly ignorant of the provisions of the Davidic Covenant (2Sa 7:10 note, 2Sa 7:19, 1Ch 17:17) which require that David’s Seed, the Messiah, the man, called the Son of Man (+*Psa 80:17), be a man (1Co 15:47), who by resurrection (Rom 1:4, 2Ti 2:8), will live forever and will return to this earth to rule upon the Throne of David (Isa 9:6, 7, Luk 1:32, 33, Act 2:30) here on (not above or over, Rev 5:10) this earth forever, not merely 1000 years (Dan 7:13, 14, Rev 11:15), to rule the earth from Jerusalem (Isa 24:23) as a man still possessed of his humanity (Act 2:31), visible in the very body (Luk 24:39, Joh 2:19, 20, 21, 22, Act 1:11) in which he arose (Joh 1:51, Php 3:21, 1Jn 3:2). +*Psa 80:17 note. +*Jer 23:5; +*Jer 23:6, +*Zec 13:7, +*Mat 1:23, *Luk 2:10; *Luk 2:11, *Joh 1:14; Joh 8:40, +Rom 1:3, **1Co 15:45, 46, 47, +*Php 2:6, 7, 8, Heb 2:6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, **1Jn 3:3 note. Let The Weary Taste God’s Mercy!

The Nugget:

Psa 34:6  This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.

My Comment:

Psalm 34:6 meant much to me as I forged ahead with my project to produce the New Treasury of Scripture Knowledge after my dreadful experience of being shot in the teachers’ parking lot at the back of Southeastern High School. I was off from teaching for the next nearly five years. During that time I typed the text of the New Treasury.

Once the New Treasury of Scripture Knowledge was  published in 1992, I soon  received a letter of thanks for my work from Ken Sagely. We’ve been in touch ever since. Ken is the person who suggested the idea of posting daily Bible nuggets here. I have not been able to post them daily, but I’ve posted quite a few so far. Ken has given me permission to post his Facebook Bible messages here. Just now as I am busier with outdoor tasks like helping my wife plant and now water the garden, Ken’s contributions here have been helpful to me.

From Ken Sagely’s Facebook Post:

Let The Weary Taste God’s Mercy!

PSALM 34.8 O taste and see that the Lord is good; How blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!

PSALM 36.7 How precious is Your Lovingkindness, O God! And the children of men take refuge in the shadow of Your wings. 8 They drink their fill of the abundance of Your house; And You give them to drink of the river of your delights.

PSALM 107.8-9 Let them give thanks to the Lord for His Lovingkindness, And for HIs wonders to the sons of men! 9 For He has satisfied the thirsty soul, And the hungry soul He has filled with what is good.

MATTHEW 11.28-29 Come to Me, all who are weary and and heavy laden and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls.

JOHN 1.12-13 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name. 13 who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.

DAY BY DAY

Day by day and with each passing moment,
strength to meet my trials here;
trusting in my Father’s wise bestowment
I’ve no cause for worry or for fear.

He whose heart is kind beyond all measure
gives unto each day what He deems best
lovingly its part of pain and pleasure,
mingling toil with peace and rest.

The protection of His child and treasure
is a charge that on Himself He laid.
“As thy days, my strength shall be in measure,”
This the pledge to me He made. Deut 33.25

Misreading Hebrews 6:1-3

Muslim Claim:

BIBLE: THE ANTI-CHRIST AND HIS FOLLOWERS ACCORDING TO JESUS

Pharisee Saul/Paul instructed those abiding in the Doctrine of Jesus, to abandon the Doctrine of Jesus and embrace his doctrine of Maturity and Perfection aka Christianity:

Hebrews 6:1-3

1 Therefore let us leave the Principles of the Doctrine of Christ, and let us go on unto Maturity and Perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,

2 Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.

3 And this will we do, if God permit.”

HEBREWS 6:1-3

Halleluyah !!!

The hidden identity of the Anti Christ is unveiled !!!

To accept Jesus Christ is to abide in his doctrine; To reject Jesus Christ is to abandon his doctrine;

Read the proof in the following proclamations of Jesus Christ on his Doctrine:

“My (Jesus) Doctrine Is Not Mine But His (God) That Sent Me.”

JOHN 7:16

2 John 1:9-11

9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the Doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the Doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.

10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this Doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:

11 For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.”

2 JOHN 1:9-11

TAKE NOTE:

Jesus Christ said: Paul and his followers alias Christians are the ANTI CHRIST and they hath neither Jesus Christ nor God; and their WORSHIP is VAIN !!!

My Counter-claim:

This is an excellent example of how to misread the Bible!

Reading the Bible in a clearer modern English translation can lead to a more correct understanding:

Heb 6:1  We must try to become mature and start thinking about more than just the basic things we were taught about Christ. We shouldn’t need to keep talking about why we ought to turn from deeds that bring death and why we ought to have faith in God.

Heb 6:2  And we shouldn’t need to keep teaching about baptisms or about the laying on of hands or about people being raised from death and the future judgment.

Heb 6:3  Let’s grow up, if God is willing. (CEV, Contemporary English Version)

Reading the immediately preceding context confirms that the author of Hebrews is not advocating any abandonment of the doctrine of Christ but rather is concerned to correct the lack of spiritual growth in his readers who have failed to move beyond the basics of their faith. This lack of spiritual growth in Christian maturity results from spiritual stagnation caused by failure to move on to learn and experience the deeper truths of God’s divine revelation contained in Scripture:

Heb 5:11  Much more could be said about this subject. But it is hard to explain, and all of you are slow to understand.

Heb 5:12  By now you should have been teachers, but once again you need to be taught the simplest things about what God has said. You need milk instead of solid food.

Heb 5:13  People who live on milk are like babies who don’t really know what is right.

Heb 5:14  Solid food is for mature people who have been trained to know right from wrong. (CEV)

Daily Bible Nugget #747, 2 Corinthians 5:15

The Nugget:

2Co 5:15  And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.

from Ken Sagely’s Lord’s Day FB Post:

Lord’s Day

2 Corinthians 1.20 For all the Promises of God in him are yea, and in Him  Amen, unto the glory of God by us.

  1. Ephesians 1.4 According as He hath chosen us in Him before the foundation of the world that we should be holy and blameless before Him in love.
  1. JOHN 10.11 I am the good shepherd: giveth his life for the sheep.
  2. 2 CORINTHIANS 5.14-15 For the love of Christ constraineth us, because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: 15 And that He died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.

4. JUDE 24 Now unto Him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy. 25 To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever.

5. JOHN10.27 My sheep hear my voice and I know them , and they follow me.

  1. JOHN 10.28 And I give unto them eternal life, and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand,
  1. JOHN 10.29 MY Father which gave them me is greater than all, and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.

STANDIING ON THE PROMISES

Standing on the promises of Christ my King,
thru eternal ages let His praises ring,
glory in the highest I will shout and sing,
standing on the promises of God.

Standing , standing,
standing on the promises of God my Savior:
Standing, standing,
I’m standing on the promises of God.

Light Enough to See

A student editor or contributor wrote the following piece published in the school newspaper, The Cass Technician, Volume 51, no. 4, page two, December 12, 1972:

BLESSED BE THE ATHEIST by Sullecram

It is bewildering that a vast majority of people continually indulge in the infinite fantasy of believing in God.

Despite the fact that the greatest teachers of mankind have refuted the existence of a God, the majority of people still persist in clinging to the autristic notion that such a phenomena really does exist.

This situation is ironic simply because one has only to apply the smallest amount of reason and openmindedness to the situation to conclude otherwise.

First of all, it is evident that many people fail to realize that their belief in God is partly based on historical conditioning. This historical conditioning resulted after mankind’s successful attempt at creating an omniscient and omnipotent power that would give meaning and purpose to their lives. In other words, early mankind –because of its failure to comprehend the universe and predict the future—found it necessary to create a God that would explain the complicated world and at the same time, serve as a symbol of his highest values and most fervent hopes.

As a result, many leaders of societies have advantageously used the concept of God as a means of coercion when more force would not suffice. The Religious Crusades serve as an excellent example of the idea.

On the other hand, when force alone is sufficient to provoke change, the concept of God is no longer necessary and therefore it is deleted. The communist and Nazi regimes are good examples in defense of this statement.

Sometimes the concept of God is even used indirectly as the rationalization of a terrible injustice that has been perpetrated on a group of people. This occurred when white people enslaved black people during the period of slavery in early America.

The point is this: God is a changing concept which fluctuates whenever it is politically expedient or socially desirable.

As soon as mankind realizes his potential for perfection and strives to achieve that perfection, then and only then will his ultimate destiny of a utopian society exist. But first we must break the bonds of dependence and alien worship. We must believe in ourselves rather than a God.

My Comment:

I wrote a “Letter to the Editor” in response to this article. I have been searching for a copy of that letter, which was subsequently published in the school newspaper.

I do remember that I suggested that the atheists might like to debate this subject with members of the Cass Technical High School Bible Discussion Club. Or, perhaps it was the atheists who challenged the Bible Discussion Club members to a debate on this subject.

I do  remember that in my letter I included a quotation from Blaise Pascal that said “There is light enough for those whose wish is to see, and darkness enough for those of the opposite disposition.”

The debate was held in the office of the Cass Technician. I observed that debate, but did not coach the Bible Discussion Club participants ahead of time. I did not contribute any comment during or after the debate itself. I sat utterly amazed at the debating skill of the Bible Discussion Club debaters. The young men and women were professional yet very energetic in their responses to the questions and challenges put forward by the atheists.

I recall that the atheists argued that since God predestines everything that happens, they could not be saved since there is no way they could know ahead of time that God had predestined them to salvation. The Bible Club participants answered that challenge effectively and in short order!

The atheists were good sports, and wrote a subsequent article admitting they had lost the debate because they were not sufficiently prepared. Though they planned to have a follow-up debate, no such debate ever took place.

Why do I bring up this debate from 50 years ago? The atheists are still among us and are growing in number, even though the best evidence is still against them.

The atheists’ published response:

TITLE:  Let Men Be Free:  Men are prisoners when they believe in God

AUTHOR:  Marcellus Richie

SOURCE:  The Cass Technician, January 23, 1973, p. 12.

As a result of a request made by the sponsor of the Bible Club, Mr. Smith, the Cass Technician sponsored a debate on religion.  Mr. Smith requested the debate because of an article which appeared in the December 12th issue of the Technician.  The debate proved to be somewhat unrewarding and one-sided due to the lack of preparation on the part of the atheists.

So, for the sake of truth, it is now the atheists’ prerogative to restate their position and to put forth more precise, relevant and provocative questions and also to disprove without a doubt, the existence of a God.  Therefore I publicly challenge the Bible Club to a debate that will be held sometime in early March in room 609.

As a prelude to the debate the atheist position shall be established once more and in more detail.

We shall start by responding to a few letters that were received as a result of the article.

First of all, most of the letters received lack any semblance to logical reasoning or intellectual depth and they also fail to get at the real gist of the issue which is the question of the worth and validity of religion and God.  One of the supposed reasons for validity of the God concept is the theory that if God didn’t exist, then the majority of people wouldn’t believe in him as they now do.  But one must acknowledge the fact that Christianity hasn’t always been the dominant religion and therefore, according to this game of numbers, would have once been invalid.

Another, somewhat different but no less idiotic pose taken by the Christian opposition, including the Michigan Chronicle columnist Steve Holsey who, incidentally, is most cordially invited to attend the upcoming religious debate, is the position that the author of the article should have been smart enough not to express his opinion on the subject.  What Mr. Holsey and others fail to understand is the motivation behind the content of the article.  It is most convincing that religion is a stumbling on the path toward true happiness and complete freedom.

As Robert Ingersoll once wrote:

“Man should cease to expect any aid from any supernatural source.  By this time he should be satisfied that worship has not created wealth, and that prosperity is not the child of prayer.  He should know that the supernatural has not succored the oppressed, clothed the naked, fed the hungry, shielded the innocent, stayed the pestilence or freed the slave.

“Being satisfied the supernatural does not exist, man should turn his entire attention to the affairs of this world, to the facts in nature.”

But the most unfounded reason given in defense of the God concept is the so-called word of God—the Bible.  To me, the Bible is the most incoherent, inconsistent and barbaric book ever read by a large number of people.  And the fact that people can put trust in such an erratic self-contradictory book explains why the world is in its present condition.

The Christians, for example, claim that Moses wrote the first five books of the Bible.  This is undeniably false as the non-theistic side shall prove at the next debate.

We also shall prove the mythology of Jesus Christ and other inaccurate assumptions and lies that are inherent in the supposed word of God.  We shall prove, along with an adult atheist, that the Bible and also books of other religions are uninspired by any God.

But it’s very important that we realize that the object of the debate will be to reach a level of under‑standing and good feelings.

The question of atheism and theism is trivial when compared to the problems of hunger, poverty and war.

To quote Erich Fromm:

Whether we are religionists or not, whether we believe in the necessity for a new religion or in a religion of no religion or in the continuation of the Judaeo-Christian tradition, inasmuch as we are concerned with the essence and not with the shell, with the experience and not with the word, with man and not with the church, we can unite in firm negation of idolatry and find perhaps more of a common faith in this negation than in any affirmative statements about God.  Certainly we shall find more of humility and of brotherly love.

__________________________
Followup note by Mr. J. Smith:

Although the forthcoming debate was announced and even publicized in a subsequent issue of the Cass Technician (of Monday, February 26, 1973, page 5) as scheduled to be held on March 21, 1973, the debate never took place.  The atheists were unable to prepare a case.  The announcement read:

…..A discussion on ATHEISM will be held on March 21 in room 609.  All students, faculty and friends are welcome.

I did write a letter on behalf of the members of the Bible Discussion Club stating the lines of evidence which convinced us that the Bible is true and that God does exist.  The letter was published in the Cass Technician for Monday, June 4, 1973, page 4, and was titled “For Those Who Wish To See.”  The title is derived from a quotation by Pascal which I included in the letter.

Closing Comment:

It should be obvious to all Bible-believing Christians who read this post that it is very important to teach our young people more than just Bible stories. We must teach them apologetics and hermeneutics as well. I have placed notes on these subjects in my book, just newly released, The New Treasury of Scripture Knowledge, as well as in The Ultimate Cross Reference Treasury.

Daily Bible Nugget #744, John 9:31

The Nugget:

Joh 9:31  Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.

The Muslim Challenge:

Christian says: “we pray anytime we wish. We pray anywhere we wish”

When you leave it to individuals, they dont pray. Perhaps they pray once in a while when they remember about God.. but most of the time they forget God.

Islam makes it compulsory to pray 5x a day so that you will never forget God. Btw, Muslims can also pray anytime we wish and anywhere we wish, outside of the 5 compulsory prayers. Supplication (doa) is not to be confused with Worship in solah.

My Response:

The Bible teaches:

1Th 5:17  Pray without ceasing.

Bible believing Christians “pray anytime we wish. We pray anywhere we wish.” We do not need a compulsory ritual requiring us to pray five times a day or at stipulated times.

The Bible contains much teaching about prayer. This teaching may be readily accessed by means of CROSS REFERENCE Bible study. Start at any Bible verse about prayer and the cross references will lead you to many more related Bible passages about the subject.

For example, beginning with John 9:31,

Joh 9:31  Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.

The cross references given in The Ultimate Cross Reference Treasury or The New Treasury of Scripture Knowledge are:

TK responded:

Do you actually memorise all these verses?

My reply to TK:

I memorized about 200 verses back when I was in high school. At that time I memorized the book of James as well. Since then, I have read and studied the Bible so much more while preparing to teach my Sunday school classes and still more while preparing The New Treasury of Scripture Knowledge, Nelson’s Cross Reference Guide to the Bible, and The Ultimate Cross Reference Treasury, I may know even more Bible verses and their location “by heart.”

TK replied:

those numbers make no sense to me. So you shouldn’t post numbers cos they’re meaningless to me

My reply to TK:

For anyone who knows anything about the Bible, “those numbers” refer to the abbreviated Bible book names, the chapter number, and the verse number. Since you post Bible verses and references yourself, I’m quite sure you know how to look up Bible verses in a printed Bible or by using digital resources to do the same.

Who are you following?

The Nugget:

Joh 8:12  Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

My Comment:

Whoever it may be that you are following determines where you end up!

Don’t be misguided by false or mistaken claimants who claim to have the truth. The only and ultimate source of truth is the Lord Jesus Christ (John 14:6). His claim to the truth has been verified by God Himself Who raised Jesus bodily from the dead. The Lord Jesus Christ is the only person authorized by God to give eternal life to those who continue to know both the Father and the Son (John 17:2, 3).

A most important part of continuing to know both the Father and the Son is regular daily reading and studying the Bible. If you are not spiritually hungry you might be spiritually dead!

From Ken Sagely:

JOHN 8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

JOHN 1:4 In Him was life: and the life was the LIGHT of men.

JOHN 3.19 And this is the condemnation that Light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than the light, because their deeds were evil.

JOHN 9.5 As long as I am in the world, I am the Light of the world.

2 CORINTHIANS 4.6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

JOHN 9:25 He answered and said, whether he be a sinner or no, I know not: one thing I know, that whereas I was blind now I see.

COLOSSIANS 1.12-14 Giving thanks unto the Father, which has made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: 13 who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son: 14 In whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.

HEBREWS 2:3 How shall we escape, if we neglect so great Salvation: which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and confirmed to unto us by them that heard him.

Redeemed–How I love to proclaim it!
Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb;
redeemed through His infinite mercy–
His child and forever I am.
Redeemed, redeemed,
Redeemed by the blood of Lamb;
Redeemed, redeemed, His child, and forever I am.
