The Nugget:

Pro 25:5  Take a wicked person away from the presence of a king, and justice will make his throne secure. (GW, God’s Word translation)

Pro 25:5 Evil people must be removed before anyone can rule with justice. (CEV, Contemporary English Version)

My Comment:

Though the Bible was written long ago, its wisdom is still much needed today.

Proverbs 25:5, especially when read in multiple translations, looks to me like it is very pertinent to recent and contemporary political issues.

We must be very careful who we support for elective office! We must be very careful to supervise the education our children receive.

2 Chronicles 19:2
2  And Jehu the son of Hanani the seer went out to meet him, and said to king Jehoshaphat, Shouldest thou help the ungodly, and love them that hate the LORD? therefore is wrath upon thee from before the LORD.
King James Version

We must not support in any way policies that are morally wrong in the light of what the Bible teaches.

Proverbs 11:2
2  When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom.
King James Version

Proverbs 16:5
5  Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD: though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished.
King James Version

Ephesians 5:11  And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.
Eph 5:12  For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.

Acts 4:19
19  But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye.
King James Version

Acts 5:29
29  Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.
King James Version

Ephesians 6:4
4  And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
King James Version
