Daily Bible Nugget #99 Colossians 3:16-17

The Nugget:

Colossians 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
Colossians 3:17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

My Comment:

One way to have the word of Christ dwell in us is to memorize key Bible passages, like the ones I have been sharing as daily Bible nuggets. Another way is to make it a habit to read the Bible directly as often as you can. But here the Apostle Paul links this concept with music, psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in our hearts to the Lord. Paul advocates that we teach one another by means of these spiritual songs. Everything we do should be done in the name of the Lord Jesus, as we give thanks to God and the Father by him. If everyone did this, at least some of the world would be a different place.
