Daily Bible Nugget #25, Psalm 119:98

The Nugget:

Psa 119:98 Thou through thy commandments hast made me wiser than mine enemies: for they are ever with me.

My Comment:

The Bible gives us wisdom, even enough wisdom to make us wiser than our enemies. The Psalmist may have had in mind specific persons who were his enemies in his day. But if we consider our enemies to be the world, the flesh, and the devil, the Bible can give us the wisdom needed to overcome all these too. Concerning the Bible, someone has said “This Book will keep you from sin, or sin will keep you from this Book.”

    eph 6.16-17 says above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to
    quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.vs 17 and the sword of the spirit, which is
    the word of god. the word of god is our offensive weapon of our spiritual armor
    in psm 119.98 makes good points brought through comparing scripture with
    scripture. psm 119.104 through thy precepts i get understanding therefore, i
    hate every false way. deut 4.6 keep therefore and do them for this your wisdom
    and your understanding in the sight of nation which shall hear all these statues,
    and say, surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people. i sam 18.4
    and david behaved himself wisely in all his ways, and the lord was with him.
    prov 2.6 for the lord giveth wisdom out his mouth cometh knowledge and under
    standing. col 3.16 let the word of christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom teaching
