Daily Bible Nugget #4, Psalm 50:15

The Nugget:

Psalm 50:15 And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.

My Comment:

Many of us have become acutely aware of others who need our prayers. Some may need our prayers for their physical or spiritual healing. Others may be in difficult situations. Whatever the case, God invites us to call upon Him in the day of trouble. We cannot always know ahead of time just what form God’s promised deliverance will take. It may not be what we wish, or expect, or think we deserve. But God has promised His deliverance. And when it comes, what ever form it takes, may we be ready to glorify Him.

For those who wish to DIG DEEPER into this encouraging promise:

(1) Consult the cross references given in Nelson’s Cross Reference Guide to the Bible on page 571.

(2) Consult the cross references given in The New Treasury of Scripture Knowledge on page 621 or in Logos 5 Bible software for Psalm 50:15.

(3) Lacking access to those two resources, consult the cross references for this passage as I have developed them further given below:

One Response to Daily Bible Nugget #4, Psalm 50:15

  1. ken sagely says:

psm 50.15 has always been a favorite vs of mine. its starts out with a command, call upon the lord, then 2 promises 1, i will deliver thee, and 2 thou shalt glorify me.
i again gained alot of encouragement and blessing from looking up cross refs
on the key words of this verse. i use the cross guide to the bible. the first key word
the word call, there alot verses in the bible on calling on the lord. psm 3.4 i cried
unto the lord with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. jer 33.3 call unto
me, and i will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou
knowest not. zec 13,9 and i will hear them: i will say, it is my people: and they
shall say,the lord is my god. there are many more these are real helpful.

    2. day of trouble. job 5.7 yet man is borne unto the day of trouble as the sparks fly upward. we all have this in common no matter background, upbringing, race, etc.
we are going to have trouble. as believers in the lord jesus our troubles take on new
meaning. psm 20.1 the lord hear thee in the day of trouble: the name of the god
of jacob defend thee, the prophetic verse jer 30.7 on the endtime tribulation ” alas
for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of jacobs trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.” a very interesting verse.

    3. deliver thee, very encouraging. psm 34.4 i sought the lord and he delivered me
from all my fears. a great promise.
    4. glorify. “whoso offereth praise glorifieth me
and to him that ordereth his conversation aright will shew the salvation the salvation
aright will i shew the salvation of god. psm 50.23. what a verse from the bible gods word and we can claim it every day! praise the lord!
