The Nugget:
Luke 10:18
18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.
King James Version
My Discussion:
Here is this passage in context:
Luke 10:17-19
17 And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.
18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.
19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
King James Version
Luke’s precise wording (“fall from heaven”) is regarded by some scholars to be a reference to Isaiah 14:12,
Isaiah 14:12
12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
King James Version
The fuller context of Isaiah 14:12, while referring to a human king of the time, has many statements which may also be understood of Satan.
The same is true of an interesting passage found in Ezekiel 28:13-17,
Ezekiel 28:13-17
13 Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.
14 Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.
15 Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.
16 By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.
17 Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee.
King James Version
Returning to Revelation 12:9,
Rev 12:9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
The expression “that old serpent” is of course a reference to the serpent in Genesis 3:1, 4, 13, 15 who tempted Eve in the Garden of Eden.
This is just a small sampling of the many places in the Bible which relate to understanding the fall of Satan and his being cast out of heaven with one third of the angels.
(2) Did Jesus claim that worship was due him?
In John 5:23 Jesus said, “That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.”
The Father, of course, is God.
Jesus commanded that all men should honor the Son in the same way that they honor God the Father.
No one would disagree that we ought to worship God the Father.
ÈTo pay the same honor to Jesus Christ, we must worship Him in the same manner that we worship God the Father.
Jesus warned, “He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.”
Our eternal life strictly depends, Jesus said, upon both hearing and obeying His Word, and believing on Him (GOD) who sent Him (Jesus),
You do not understand and seemingly few do. I am the son and every human is the child of God. We are meant to ACT like Jesus did. Become Jesus. Never worship him.
No chance I am not correct. You seem to actually care and are not a hypocrite, I hope. Understand what the early Christians did and Jesus taught and what the Church has lied about since the beginning. Paul did not even understand.
Jung did. Read According to Job, his essay, or Job itself. Job is wiser, better than both Satan and God. Teaching God… to bring Jesus to understanding and changing Gods approach. God is not infallible, but is essentially omnipotent – within the laws of The Word – Which this universe is – and omniscience is Gods – but full conciousness was not – why humans exist. To teach The Father – the least of the Trinity – lower than Spirit – Word and even Mankind – The Son – that Jesus understood and I do now – exactly as much too. – humans can not comprehend and it seems so obvious – it is all over the 4 gospels and then moreso in all the found ones like the Gospel of Thomas, Mary the Pistis Sophia and all the others.
Take off your clothes, get rid of your shame and ego and become God. The Church and all its teachings are the furthest place from God possible. No one hates God more than the Churches – all of them – they want to be God. Find a lively child – just self aware and unbroken by society – there see God – what man is supposed to be.
