Daily Bible Nugget #373, Isaiah 54:17

The Nugget:

Isaiah 54:17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.

My Comment:

This is a most encouraging Bible promise. The promise is in part applicable to everyone who truly believes in the Lord, who is truly saved. I like the insight found at Psalm 40:17 which lets us know that God is very much aware of each of us individually, a truth reflected by the words “yet the Lord thinketh upon me.”

It is possible to go much deeper into the truths of Isaiah 54:17 by studying the cross references given for this verse which I share below.

The primary application in context of Isaiah 54:17 is to the nation of Israel. As such, this promise still stands written against any and all who would take sides against God’s Chosen People. That is an issue that is almost daily in the news at this time. The President of the United States and the Secretary of State John Kerry are in the Biblical sense utter fools to be pushing for an agreement with Iran that obligates the United States to defend Iran against any attack from Israel. Apparently neither they, nor most people are aware that God keeps His promises to Israel (Malachi 3:6).

Do you have any information on why five Walmart stores in US have mysteriously closed? Would love to know what is going on there.
    Thanks

  2. Jerry says:

    Dear Robella,

The only information I have about those mysterious Walmart store closings is what I have read on the Internet.

The official story is those stores were closed because of plumbing issues. That claim is surely false, because (1) no plumbing permits had been obtained or sought for such work at those stores; (2) the work going on inside those now largely empty stores has nothing to do with plumbing.

The rest would seem to be speculation. Some have connected the store closings with “Jade Helm 15,” suggesting a future military use for those facilities, but so far nothing has transpired to suggest this is the case.

Are preparations being made by the authorities for some event or series of events the rest of us know nothing about?

In any case, it would be wise for everyone to be prepared for whatever might eventually happen, following the advice of Proverbs 22:3.
