Daily Bible Nugget #260, Psalm 119:81

The Nugget:

Psalm 119:81 My soul fainteth for thy salvation: but I hope in thy word.

My Comment:

Saints hope in the Scriptures (The New Topical Textbook, subtopic under the main topic “The Scriptures,” page 240). The Psalmist greatly longed for God’s salvation. As used in this verse, “salvation” has reference to deliverance, and also to the final salvation God will bring when He sets His kingdom up literally upon this earth. In the meantime, the Psalmist placed his hope in God’s Word. The promises of God’s Word are sure (Isaiah 55:3); they are certainly what we can place our hope in.
