Daily Bible Nugget #171, Romans 16:26

The Nugget:

Romans 16:26 But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:

My Comment:

The Scriptures are intended for the use of all men. Of course, that includes the ladies too! The use of “men” is generic and means “for the use of all people.” What “now is made manifest” is the “revelation of the mystery” (Romans 16:25) spoken of in the preceding most instructive and interesting verse. The “mystery” is made manifest, made clear, by the Scriptures of the prophets. These Scriptures by the commandment of the everlasting God are made known to all nations for the obedience of faith. This is a long, continuing series of Daily Bible Nuggets on the subject of the Scriptures, especially what the Bible says about itself. In Romans 16:26 one central thought is that the Scriptures are intended for the use of all people in every culture throughout the world. Where the Bible is truly known and appreciated, regularly read and studied, as well as practiced as a guide to life, people have a far different most positive character and moral worldview than where it is not. Unfortunately today, some places that were once beacons of light for getting the Gospel out have fallen away from the truth, well depicted by 2 Peter 2:1, 20-22, a chapter of the Bible which describes our condition most accurately as it exists today.
