The Nugget:
Psa 19:10 More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
My Comment:
The Scriptures are described as precious. God’s Word, found only in the Bible, is something we should desire even more than gold. From what little I read these days about gold, it must be very precious. It surely is very expensive. To the consternation of several European countries, particularly Germany–who wants its gold back, there is no more gold in Fort Knox. Apparently that gold must have been very desirable, for the “banksters” and who knows who else have apparently absconded with it. Now where are the people who have a stronger desire for the Bible than gold that perishes (or disappears!)? A number of Scriptures (given in the cross references below) indicate that the Bible provides delectable food. In the New Testament Peter wrote “taste and see that the Lord is good.” If you have been serving up some spiritual meals for yourself from the Bible, you too know the joy and pleasure of reading and studying the Bible.
