Daily Bible Nugget #648, Colossians 2:7

The Nugget:

Col 2:7  Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.

My Comment:

One must be thoroughly grounded in the Scriptures (Colossians 2:7) in order to discern truth from error.

If you have not done that thorough homework, you don’t have that gift (2 Timothy 3:16, 17).

2Ti 3:16  All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
2Ti 3:17  That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

It is recorded in the Gospels about 10 times that Jesus asked the question, “Have ye never read” or the equivalent (Matthew 21:16; Mark 2:25).

Mar 2:25  And he said unto them, Have ye never read what David did, when he had need, and was an hungred, he, and they that were with him?

Have ye never read. FS21, Jdg 14:18, This is the Figure Anteisagoge or Counter Question. Mar 12:10; Mar 12:26, +Mat 12:3 note. Mat 19:4; +Mat 21:16; +Mat 21:42; Mat 22:31, Luk 6:3; Luk 10:26.

Mat 12:3  But he said unto them, Have ye not read what David did, when he was an hungred, and they that were with him;

Have ye not read. Mat 12:5, Mat 19:4; +Mat 21:16; +Mat 21:42; Mat 22:31, Mar 2:25; Mar 12:10; Mar 12:26, Luk 6:3; Luk 10:26, Jesus appealed repeatedly to the Bible alone as the source of spiritual authority. Notice the preceding cross references which document Christ’s repeated question, “Have ye not read?”

Jesus expected his hearers to have read the Bible. He expects them to understand what they read (Mat 24:15 note). His question, “Have ye not read?” is recorded ten times! Jesus referred to seven distinct passages (Gen 1:27 at Mat 19:4; Exo 3:6 at Mat 22:31-32; Lev 24:6-9 at Mat 12:3; Num 28:9-10 at Mat 12:5; 1Sa 21:6 at Mat 12:3; Psa 8:2 at Mat 21:16; Psa 118:22 at Mat 21:42). Jesus appealed to the Bible as His authority many times, but never once did he appeal to the authority of the religious leaders in Israel (Pharisees or Sadducees), or to religious tradition. He commanded to “Search the Scriptures” (Joh 5:39).

Two dozen times Jesus cites the Old Testament Prophets as recorded in the New Testament (Luk 24:27 note). Even during His temptation in the wilderness, Jesus cited the Scripture, not tradition, when he resisted the Devil successfully. It seems we could learn something from that (Mat 4:4; Mat 4:6, 7; Mat 4:10).

That the New Testament was written by the authority of Christ may be legitimately inferred from the fact that: (1) John explicitly records that Jesus Christ commanded him to write (Rev 1:19). (2) Jesus directly promised that the Holy Spirit would guide his apostles into all truth and bring all things to their remembrance (Joh 16:12, 13). Thus, as they wrote the writings we now have in the New Testament we are assured of their accuracy for they were written under divine inspiration (2Ti 3:16, 2Pe 1:21). Peter called the letters written by Paul “Scripture” (2Pe 3:16), and clearly possessed them as a well-known collection.

Paul cites the words of Jesus, quoting them exactly, from Luk 10:7 in 1Ti 5:17, 18, The book of Revelation makes at least four direct quotations from the Gospels.

By John’s death, the entire New Testament as we have it today was available and being read by or to all genuine Christians. Thus the claim by some Roman Catholics that Jesus gave us the Church, not the Bible, as our teaching authority and source of spiritual truth, the “pillar and ground of the truth” (1Ti 3:15 note), is untrue, for Jesus himself appealed to the authority of Scripture, not tradition or the religious institution of his day. Mat 9:13; +*Mat 22:29, Lev 10:16-20, +Deut 17:19, +*Psa 119:139, Act 13:27.

He also stated “whoso readeth, let him understand” (Matthew 24:15), thus asserting that it IS possible to understand many of the most difficult things in Scripture.

Mat 24:15  When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)

let him understand. or, observe attentively. Jesus assumes, asserts, and expects that his hearers, as readers of Scripture, can understand even a difficult passage in Daniel’s prophecy, a firm and strong assertion of and testimony to the perspicuity or understandability of Scripture. +Mat 12:3 note. Mat 13:51; Mat 15:10, **Psa 119:105, **Pro 8:8; **Pro 8:9, Jer 30:24, **Dan 12:4; **Dan 12:9; **Dan 12:10, **Joh 20:31, *Act 8:30 note. Rev 1:3; Rev 17:9.

But if you are not reading God’s Word, studying God’s Word, by searching the Scriptures (John 5:39; Acts 17:11), you’re not there yet.

Joh 5:39  Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

Act 17:11  These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

We never get to the point where we know it all. We are to keep on growing in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ (see 2 Peter 3:17, 18).

2Pe 3:17  Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.
2Pe 3:18  But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

More Nonsense in Current News–Propaganda at Work

Here are some headlines from my “News Feed” that I saw just now with links and my comment on the headline in some cases:

TITLE: Kabul airport explosions hit crowds amid evacuations, The Wall Street Journal

LINK: https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/kabul-airport-explosions-hit-crowds-amid-evacuations/ar-AANLzDs?ocid=msedgdhp&pc=U531

MY COMMENT: While not strictly propaganda, this situation reflects the incompetent political and moral leadership of the present administration in Washington.

TITLE: 100,000 more COVID deaths seen unless US changes its ways, Associated Press

LINK: https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/100-000-more-covid-deaths-seen-unless-us-changes-its-ways/ar-AANMq2m?ocid=msedgdhp&pc=U531

MY COMMENT: I have serious reservations about any news in the mainstream media about COVID and related matters. The news is agenda driven, not fact-based science-driven. It was announced not long ago in the mainstream news that the PCR test now being used to detect cases of COVID is utterly unreliable and invalid. It was reported that the use of the PCR test would be discontinued as of December 31, 2021. Therefore, all reports of PCR-related test results are invalid. No new substitute test has been announced as far as I have yet read. It is even possible that the news we see and hear is one-sided, designed to instill fear, for the benefit of companies that make vaccines and the medical industry at large. But being one-sided is the very definition of it being propaganda, not science.

TITLE: Capital Police officers sue Trump and allies over election lies and January 6, The New York Times

LINK: https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/capitol-police-officers-sue-trump-and-allies-over-election-lies-and-jan-6/ar-AANMboA?ocid=msedgdhp&pc=U531

MY COMMENT: I notice once again that the mainstream media is still working to defame and denigrate former President Trump. It is also working hard to defend the patriotic and peaceful rally of January 6, 2021. It is also denying the evidence of election fraud on the night of November 3, 2020. The mainstream media dutifully and truthfully reported that the FBI admitted in a statement in the past week or so, best I recall as to time, that after careful and thorough investigation it had found no evidence at all of any sinister plot by the patriots who gathered in Washington on January 6 to disrupt the government or engage in any illegal activity. I would suggest, however, that the FBI has apparently not released the over 400 individuals they found who attended the rally that have been jailed without charges or hearings. Now as for “election lies,” I watched the election returns carefully on the night of November 3, 2020 until about 10:30 pm eastern daylight savings time. At that time President Trump was clearly far ahead of candidate Joe Biden. We all know that in the next days the totals changed to favor candidate Biden. But the evidence I have carefully read and watched indicates that there were many coordinated election irregularities across six or seven states–I say coordinated, because counting was  allegedly stopped at the very same time in all seven states, to be resumed the following day. Most of us know the rest of the story, so I won’t repeat it here. I believe the ultimate outcome was fraudulently and nefariously rigged in candidate Biden’s favor.

TITLE: Trump’s ex-national security advisor John Bolton says it’s ‘impossible’ for Mike Pompeo to ‘rewrite history’ on his negotiations with the Taliban, Business Insider

LINK: https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/trump-s-ex-national-security-advisor-john-bolton-says-it-s-impossible-for-mike-pompeo-to-rewrite-history-on-his-negotiations-with-taliban/ar-AANMdQB?ocid=msedgdhp&pc=U531

MY COMMENT: This article by its headline seems to be another attempt to make President Trump look bad. I would caution anyone reading political news from the Business Insider that I have frequently noticed its articles are quite biased in favor of the Left. If you check more deeply into John Bolton you will learn that he has quite an axe to grind against President Trump. When news is persistently presented all one way that is a sign that it is propaganda.

TITLE: The 1/6 Committee request for records is ‘going to drive Trump crazy’–NBC NEWS Trump family, senior aides target of demands by Jan 6 committee By Adam Edeman, MSNBC

LINK: https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/the-1-6-committee-request-for-records-is-going-to-drive-trump-crazy/vi-AANK1Fs?ocid=msedgdhp&pc=U531

MY COMMENT:  This is like trying to “beat a dead horse” in the light of the recent FBI report that it found no evidence that those patriots who gathered at the Capital on January 6 had any coordinated intent to do anything illegal. What I saw reported (and watched in part as it happened) was that the rally was infiltrated by BLM and Antifa disguised as Trump supporters who attempted (and partially succeeded) to act in a manner that would defame the genuine Trump supporters at the rally.

TITLE: Election denier’s contorted legal defense, CNN.

LINK: https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/election-denier-s-contorted-legal-defense/vi-BB1eTowu?ocid=msedgdhp&pc=U531

MY COMMENT: The title is over the background of Attorney Sidney Powell. I clicked on the link myself this time and it took me to a “hit piece” against Sidney Powel and Rudy Giuliani. Having followed the work of Sidney Powell (who successfully represented General Flynn) and whose book, Licensed to Lie, I am in the process of reading, I suspect there must be more to this story than what is presented in the three-minute and twelve-second video clip here. Therefore I class this piece as yet one more instance of propaganda.

TITLE: ‘I Have No Idea’: Brother of Devin Nunes Reportedly Stumped as to How Pro-Trump Republican’s Family is Funding Their Lawsuit, Law & Crime, Adam Klasfeld.

LINK: https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/crime/i-have-no-idea-brother-of-devin-nunes-reportedly-stumped-as-to-how-pro-trump-republican-s-family-is-funding-their-lawsuit/ar-AANMqi2?ocid=msedgdhp&pc=U531

MY COMMENT: Skimming the article itself, I find that it is sourced in some part to Business Insider. Apparently there is a way to un-redact released court filings, etc. The complaint seems to be that some think the Nunes’s farm family is over-litigious against what I call the mainstream media and that the family has paid little money in legal expenses to the attorneys serving them. Interestingly, Representative Nunes testified: “[A]nd now my policy is, and I have a new policy, that if you defame or slander me, I take you to court,'” the legal brief states. I believe Congressman Nunes has done a marvelous job of exposing the wrongdoing going on in Congress, and that is why he is a target of this negative propaganda.

TITLE: Maddow Blog. Judge sanctions group of pro-Trump attorneys in dramatic fashion, MSNBC

LINK: https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/maddow-blog-judge-sanctions-group-of-pro-trump-attorneys-in-dramatic-fashion/ar-AANLOMg?ocid=msedgdhp&pc=U531

MY COMMENT: Once again, Sidney Powell graces the picture behind the headline. Knowing her sterling character, I would reserve judgment when it comes to believing anything the mainstream media have to say about her. I also do not trust the judgment of judges, many of whom are clearly  politically biased, and seem not to fairly evaluate the evidence Sidney Powell and others have attempted to bring before the court.

TITLE: House probe focuses on Trump’s mental health and martial law, The Hill

LINK: https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/house-probe-focuses-on-trump-s-mental-health-and-martial-law/ar-AANKg0C?ocid=msedgdhp&pc=U531

MY COMMENT: I do not mean to be disrespectful to our current resident of the White House. But from what I have seen, heard, and read, it may be much more appropriate to focus on his mental health. I suspect he really is not fully capable of fulfilling the office he now holds. I wonder who is really pulling the strings. The title alone falls in line with all the other titles I have cited as propaganda for its obvious one-sidedness.

TITLE: READ: Judge Refers ‘Kraken’ Lawyers For Potential ‘Disbarment’ In Scathing Opinion Over Big Lie, Talking Points Memo.

LINK: https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/crime/read-judge-refers-kraken-lawyers-for-potential-disbarment-in-scathing-opinion-over-big-lie/ar-AANKpVS?ocid=msedgdhp&pc=U531

MY COMMMENT: Here we go again! Attorney Sidney Powell is getting more than her share of negative publicity today in my “News Feed”! I wonder if all this negative emphasis is to distract readers and viewers from what is really going on? I wonder if the Arizona Audit will produce definitive forensic proof of tampering with the election of November 3, 2020? Maybe this is an effort to get readers and viewers to look the other way regarding the current fiasco in Afghanistan? The judge may have written a “Scathing Opinion,” but it looks to me that he just might be covering up the real Big Lie. Once again, I class this persistent one-sidedness in the media as propaganda.

TITLE: Arizona Democrats are trying to stop ‘audit’ firm Cyber Ninjas from getting any more taxpayer dollars, Business Insider

LINK: https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/arizona-democrats-are-trying-to-stop-audit-firm-cyber-ninjas-from-getting-any-more-taxpayer-dollars/ar-AANK3ah?ocid=msedgdhp&pc=U531

MY COMMENT: “Speak of the Devil!” I had no idea that this next article would have reference to the Arizona Audit and the efforts of Democrats to discredit and even stop the audit process in Arizona. But here it came as the very next article in my News Feed today. I just have this to say to anyone who opposes the auditing process taking place: If you know and claim that the November 3, 2020 election was conducted fairly, you would be most EAGER to promote the forensic audit because it would only prove, once and for all, that you are correct. But when you obfuscate, interfere, and otherwise attempt to misrepresent the process you surely prove that you know that the counting of the election ballots on election night and subsequent days was rigged in favor of Biden. You ought to be ashamed of yourselves. Once again, evidence here of propaganda.

TITLE: Judge rules that Sidney Powell and Lin Wood engaged in ‘historic and profound abuse’ of legal system, approves punishment, Business Insider

LINK: https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/judge-rules-that-sidney-powell-and-lin-wood-engaged-in-historic-and-profound-abuse-of-legal-system-approves-punishment/ar-AANKun5?ocid=msedgdhp&pc=U531

MY COMMENT: Once again, Sidney Powell is prominently in the news in a negative light. I trust that time will prove that she and the other attorneys condemned by this judge will be proved to have been in the right. I suspect that some of our judges are not well taught in Constitutional Law. That is not my field of expertise, but in my reading of the Constitution, Constitutional election law was clearly violated on several fronts. Once again, I have nowhere read in my News Feed today of any dissenting opinion with regard to these items of current news. Therefore, while the events may be factual, the one-sidedness demonstrates this is propaganda.

TITLE: Controversial Texas voting law expected to advance with return of Dems. CBS News.

LINK: https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/controversial-texas-voting-law-expected-to-advance-with-return-of-democrats/ar-AANLYPW?ocid=msedgdhp&pc=U531

MY COMMENT: As I recall, we all must show official ID when we open a bank account. In order to drive a car, we must have a driver’s license. There are many occasions that require us to have official ID. Voting should not be an exception! Don’t tell me that anyone who legally has the right to vote finds it too hard to produce valid ID to do so. Nonsense in the News indeed, and more propaganda. There is no reason for the Texas voting law to be controversial unless you are among those who plan to cheat in future elections.

TITLE: Rep. Mike Doyle tests positive for COVID despite being fully vaccinated. Fox News.

LINK: https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/rep-mike-doyle-tests-positive-for-covid-despite-being-fully-vaccinated/ar-AANM7hx?ocid=msedgdhp&pc=U531

MY COMMENT: This article may or may not be propaganda, but it highlights a major  problem in the current vaccine narrative. The problem is that the so-called “vaccine” is not a vaccine and it offers no protection against future COVID infections. I cannot imagine how current tests are being conducted. If test results are based upon the PCR test, such results are utterly invalid. It is no longer to be used after December 31, 2021. Don’t fall for the media and government narrative. They seem to admit the error but then go right on and push the propaganda.

These are all articles present in my news feed today. That this is propaganda ought to be obvious to anyone who knows how to recognize propaganda. It ought to be obvious to anyone who has carefully consulted experts on these subjects from alternative, that is, non-mainstream media sources.

Jesus warned us not to be deceived (Matthew 24:4. Luke 21:8). Jesus told us how to do that: take heed what ye hear (Mark 4:24) as well as how ye hear (Luke 8:18).

Daily Bible Nugget #647, Proverbs 29:2

The Nugget:

Pro 29:2  When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.  (KJV)

Pro 29:2 When the righteous become great, the people rejoice, but, when a lawless man beareth rule, a people sigh. (EB, Emphasized Bible by Rotherham)

Pro 29:2 When the upright have power, the people are glad; when an evil man is ruler, grief comes on the people. (BBE, Bible in Basic English)

Pro 29:2  When righteous people increase, the people of God rejoice, but when a wicked person rules, everybody groans. (GW, God’s Word transation)

Pro 29:2 When justice rules a nation, everyone is glad; when injustice rules, everyone groans.

My Comment:

The events of recent days surely illustrate the truth and wisdom of Proverbs 29:2.

There seems to be a shortage of righteous people.

Notice the cause/effect relationships presented in this verse:

(a) cause: when righteous people increase; (b) effect: the people of God rejoice.

(c) cause: when an evil man is ruler, (d) grief comes on the people.

What is the solution? There needs to be a vast increase in the number of righteous people. I think that one way to reach that goal is to win souls (Proverbs 11:30). We need to get more people reading, studying, and sharing the Bible with others.

For a list of other cause/effect relationship verses I have found in my own study of the Bible, see the extensive listing at Psalm 9:10 note in The New Treasury of Scripture Knowledge, or Nelson’s Cross Reference Guide to the Bible, or The Ultimate Cross Reference Treasury. I need to add Proverbs 29:2 to the list, I see. I had not noticed this cause/effect relationship verse in my studies before. This shows that anyone can learn something new every time they open their Bible and study it carefully.

Nonsense in the News–Propaganda at Work

The Nugget:

Pro 18:17  He that is first in his own cause seemeth just; but his neighbour cometh and searcheth him. (KJV)

Pro 18:17  The first to state his case seems right until his neighbor comes to cross-examine him. (GW)

Pro 18:17  You may think you have won your case in court, until your opponent speaks. (CEV)

Pro 18:17  The man who first puts his cause before the judge seems to be in the right; but then his neighbour comes and puts his cause in its true light. (BBE)

My Comment:

I have noticed very frequently a pattern of language use that reflects the propaganda technique and  logical error of “poisoning the well.”

I said in a recent post that I believe I can detect propaganda (in contrast to real news) by the emotive language writers use.

Here are some examples:

from MSNBC:

HEADLINE: “Trump’s biggest liars will have to convince a jury that they were just kidding,” by Jessica Levinson.

LINK: Trump’s biggest liars will have to convince a jury that they were just kidding (msn.com)

OPENING PARAGRAPH:

A federal judge ruled on Wednesday that a major defamation case against key boosters of former President Donald Trump’s false claims of election fraud can continue forward. This is a win not just for the plaintiff, Dominion, a corporation that sells voting machines and software, but also for the American public. It’s looking increasingly like defamation suits could be our best bet for holding election conspiracy theorists accountable and for deterring future false claims of election fraud.

MY CRITICISM:

It looks to me like the federal judge ruled without examining the evidence. I suspect the article author is guilty of failing to examine the evidence likewise.

Notice the author’s use of prejudicial language in her assertion about:

key boosters of former President Donald Trump’s false claims of election fraud

To make the judgment that President Trump made false claims of election fraud you must provide the proof that substantiates your claim. As usual, such proof is lacking.

SECOND PARAGRAPH:

The defendants in the case are Sidney Powell and Rudy Giuliani, attorneys who promoted falsehoods about the 2020 presidential election, and Mike Lindell, founder of MyPillow and a frequent peddler of election conspiracies. All three are now stuck defending themselves against Dominion’s defamation suit thanks to the judge’s decision not to toss the case as they requested.

MY CRITICISM:

Note the prejudicial wording “attorneys who promoted falsehoods about the 2020 presidential election.”

I have followed the work of Sidney Powell and Rudy Giuliani carefully. They most certainly have direct evidence of election fraud carefully attested in signed affidavits from the election workers and observers who were witnesses to the facts they affirm. So far, judges and courts have refused to examine the evidence and rule on its validity. What are they trying to hide?

Sidney Powell is one of this nation’s top attorneys. To besmirch her character and reject her evidence is a sign of extreme failure to practice law in a constitutional manner. Again, what are they trying to hide?

Notice that judges are quick to toss any cases brought by Sidney Powell but seem most reluctant to toss any cases brought against her.

I believe this article’s author displays utter bias when she refers to Mike Lindell as “a frequent peddler of election conspiracies.”

Perhaps, if the legal process proceeds as it ought, the process of discovery may permit actual evidence to be seen and carefully considered. Maybe then we will learn for sure what actually happened during the week of November 3.

I have carefully read the remainder of this article, but the above examples of the author’s use of language that prejudicially “poisons the well” are enough to make my point clear.

from salon

HEADLINE: Mike Lindell shares details of alleged “attack” during cyber symposium photo-op

LINK: Mike Lindell shares details of alleged “attack” during cyber symposium photo-op (msn.com)

AUTHOR: Brett Bachman

This article is quite objective in its use of language. But notice the following paragraph:

Though the predicted Aug. 13 “reinstatement day” has now come and gone without any evidence to prove the widespread election tampering Lindell alleges, the pillow maven is now claiming that the assault he referenced on stage…

MY COMMENT:

Notice the claim made in the statement: “without any evidence to prove the widespread election tampering Lindell alleges…” Once again, to suggest that there is no evidence to support Lindell’s claims reflects the author’s failure to carefully examine the evidence Lindell has shown in his several published video documentaries that show the evidence in some detail. I have watched those presentations carefully.

from Insider

HEADLINE: People are posting memes mocking MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell’s conspiracy-theory-driven ‘Cyber Symposium’

LINK: People are posting memes mocking MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell’s conspiracy-theory-driven ‘Cyber Symposium’ (msn.com)

MY COMMENT:

Note the biased wording in the article title: “conspiracy-theory-driven”

Note the following statement from the article:

Trump’s “big lie” that Biden “stole” the presidency, which Lindell and many other Trump allies have promoted since the election without evidence, is tied to the insurrectionists who stormed the US Capitol on January 6.

Note the expression “without evidence.” Failure on the part of the article writer to examine the evidence hardly justifies the use of his or her mistaken claim “without evidence.” Such language is not the proper language of legitimate journalism, but of propaganda.

from MSNBC:

HEADLINE: GOP lies about election, Covid threaten democracy

LINK: GOP lies about election, Covid threaten democracy (msn.com)

Note the following statement:

NBC News reporter Ben Collins joins Ali Velshi to discuss how crazy conspiracy theories about election fraud and vaccine hesitancy are “dovetailing with the mainstream of the Republican Party” and how to confront the reality and the cynicism at the root of “one dog whistle that Donald Trump perfected.”

MY COMMENT:

I think it is readily apparent that if this is “news reporting” I must say “your bias is showing.”

from Business Insider

HEADLINE: Mike Lindell said his cyber symposium would prove voter fraud. One cyber expert said it was just full of ‘random garbage that wastes our time.’

LINK: Mike Lindell said his cyber symposium would prove voter fraud. One cyber expert said it was just full of ‘random garbage that wastes our time.’ (msn.com)

AUTHORS: Zahra Tayeb, Grace Dean

Note the following statement from the article:

A staunch ally of Trump, Lindell has been a superspreader of conspiracy theories about the election being “stolen,” despite no evidence of voter fraud.

MY COMMENT

Seems like I’ve heard this claim before about “despite no evidence of voter fraud.” The authors and the sources they have quoted have apparently not been looking in the right places so they have not found any evidence.

I did not attend Mike Lindell’s conference. I watched small portions of it, however. I found the presentations of the experts I saw to be quite compelling.

Daily Bible Nugget #646, 1 Corinthians 3:17

The Nugget:

1Co 3:17  If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are. (KJV)

1Co 3:17 If someone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him. For God’s temple is holy, which is what you are. (NET Bible)

1Co 3:17 If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him. For God’s temple is holy, and you are that temple. (ESV)

My Comment:

God’s Temple is holy. You are that temple! This has many applications. We must not defile our minds with inappropriate content. We must not destroy our bodies by partaking of anything in our diet that is destructive to our health. This means, for the genuine Bible believing Christian, no tobacco in any form; no beer, wine, or stronger alcoholic beverages whatsoever, and positively no illicit drugs. I have written of these matters in prior posts (see https://www.realbiblestudy.com/?p=3389).

This also includes taking unidentified as to content and side-effects any supposed vaccine that is “experimental” and that has not gone through the full course of animal and human testing before being officially approved for administration at large to the human public. The current misnamed “vaccine” is not a vaccine and it has not yet been approved but falsely given “emergency status.” By law, such status is not allowable if there are other effective treatments available. Such treatments are available and have been for a long time. It is wise to be extremely wary when governments at large worldwide, the UN, the major mass media, and supposed representatives of the scientific community all agree in unison (with no dissenting voices allowed a hearing), to promote an experimental unproven “remedy” to the exclusion of all other known and effective alternative non-vaccine remedies.

You need to be able to spot propaganda when you see and hear it! Jesus told us to be “wise as serpents and harmless as doves” (Matthew 10:16). Paul cautioned us to “prove all things, hold fast to that which is good” (1 Thessalonians 5: 21). This means do your own careful research using independent reliable multiple sources for information. The writer of Hebrews tells us we must “Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord” (Hebrews 12:14). If we do  not strenuously and diligently pursue holiness we will not see the Lord. The necessary inference is that we will not be saved.

That “God will destroy him” has far reaching and eternal consequences in light of what Jesus said:

Mat 10:28  And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Paul instructs us:

1Ti 1:19  Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck:

Note that Paul speaks to Timothy about some who have “thrust away” the faith and in so doing have acted in disregard to their informed and good conscience. The consequence is that such persons have “made shipwreck” concerning the faith. In plain language, they have abandoned the faith and have committed apostasy and have lost their salvation.

In terms of contemporary events and current news today, the Bible passages I have cited above together with the associated notes and cross references I have provided in both The New Treasury of Scripture Knowledge and The Ultimate Cross Reference Treasury will provide any genuine Bible believing Christian some Bible basis for asserting conscientious objector status in applying for religious exemption to some of the current unlawful and unconstitutional demands for universal military vaccination against the Covid 19 with the assistance of appropriate legal counsel as necessary. These passages also would provide  support for civilians to assert religious objections against being required to take the current non-vaccine for the alleged corona virus in its many varieties.

We all must take the time and effort to be scientifically and biblically informed in order to guide us in our decision making.

Daily Bible Nugget #645, Proverbs 22:3

The Nugget:

Pro 22:3  A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself: but the simple pass on, and are punished. (KJV)

Pro 22:3 The sharp man sees the evil and takes cover: the simple go straight on and get into trouble. (BBE, Bible in Basic English)

Pro 22:3  Sensible people foresee trouble and hide from it, but gullible people go ahead and suffer the consequence. (GW, God’s Word translation)

Pro 22:3 When you see trouble coming, don’t be stupid and walk right into it– be smart and hide. (CEV, Contemporary English Version)

My Comment:

I was in the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts many years ago during the 1950s. The Boy Scout Motto was “Be Prepared.” That was good advice then, and important advice now. We need to be prepared mentally, physically, and above all, spiritually. We can be prepared mentally by reading good books and by getting our news from reliable news sources. At this time it appears to me that independent news sources are likely more reliable than the so-called main stream news. We need to be prepared physically by getting enough exercise as well as sleep and by eating a proper diet. We can be prepared spiritually by carefully studying our Bible for ourselves.

Here is another important Proverb from the book of Proverbs:

Pro 14:15  The simple believeth every word: but the prudent man looketh well to his going.  (KJV)

Pro 14:15 The simple man has faith in every word, but the man of good sense gives thought to his footsteps. (BBE)

Pro 14:15  A gullible person believes anything, but a sensible person watches his step. (GW)

Pro 14:15 Don’t be stupid and believe all you hear; be smart and know where you are headed. (CEV)

My Comment:

It is most important to know well both or the several sides to a story. The same is true about controversial subjects. You must study carefully more than one side of the subject before you decide which side, if any, is correct.

I believe God’s Word warns us about falling for propaganda (Proverbs 14:15). The more you can learn about a subject the better you will be able to make correct judgments about current events and contemporary affairs. The more widely read you are and the more broadly educated (yes, I mean getting what used to be called a “liberal education” or “liberal arts education”) you are, the better you will become at discerning truth from falsehood. That is a crucially important skill to have in these perilous times!

Do not follow the crowd. Popular opinion is nearly always wrong. Have you actually read any books, whole books, about propaganda? You ought to become skilled enough to recognize propaganda after hearing even a single sentence advocating falsehood. I believe I am able to do that almost automatically. It makes people mad (“You didn’t even let me finish!”). And yes, I am usually right. Like I told my own father when I was a teenager, “I read more by accident than you do on purpose.” That is still true today. I keep on learning, and so should you.

Daily Bible Nugget #644, John 5:39

The Nugget:

John 5:39  Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

My Comment:

Many modern English translations get John 5:39 wrong. Greek grammar requires that this verse states a command in the imperative mood. Modern English translations translate this verse in the indicative mood to read “Ye search the scriptures.” As a matter of fact, the Pharisees and Sadducees as well as the scribes did not search the Scriptures  carefully as I discussed in my immediately prior post.

Some Greek scholars also get this verse wrong for they insist that the word “think” as used by John in his writings always means wrongly think. Sorry about that. This instance is surely a prime example of this word having the meaning rightly think.

Many of these mistakes in understanding could be avoided if theologians and grammarians learned how to search the Scriptures carefully themselves, I believe.

It really doesn’t hurt to search the Scriptures. Searching the Scriptures will do you much good.

We should search the Scriptures to:

(1) avoid sticking foot in mouth (John 7:52);

(2) become better informed about Bible prophecy (Revelation 3:10);

(3) equip ourselves to more adequately defend the truth (Jude 1:3);

(4) become more accurately informed about Bible doctrine (Ephesians 4:14);

(5) receive guidance for daily living (Psalm 32:8);

(6) discern the times (1 Chronicles 12:32);

(7) equip ourselves to comfort others (2 Corinthians 1:4);

(8) know where to turn in Scripture to find the comfort it offers (Romans 15:4);

(9) be able to share the comfort of the Scriptures with others (Romans 15:4);

(10) know the promises of God and how to both find and apply or claim them (1 Corinthians 10:13),

(11) be equipped to ground others in the faith (Colossians 1:23);

(12) train others to teach others (1 Timothy 4:16; 2 Timothy 2:2);

(13) protect ourselves from falling into false doctrine (Colossians 2:7).

Some years ago here I shared an important endorsement of cross-reference Bible study written long ago by Bishop Horsley. What he said reinforces the importance of using cross reference Bible study to protect ourselves from falling into false doctrine.

Here is the link to that post:

Cross Reference Bible Study–a Most Important Bible Study Method

My elderly friend “Uncle Frank” frequently mentioned to me and others that whenever you  encounter a false doctrine that seems to be supported by Scripture you will always find that upon further search of Scripture that it will “not fit.” In your own study, when that happens, you know you need to dig deeper.

Daily Bible Nugget #643, John 7:52 explained

The Nugget:

John 7:52  They answered and said unto him, Art thou also of Galilee? Search, and look: for out of Galilee ariseth no prophet.

My Comment:

On this site I tend to repeat myself. That is on purpose. New readers will often not know what I posted here before so whatever I post will be new to them. Long time readers here may have forgotten that I posted on the current subject in the past.

Here is a link to my previous in-depth explanation of John 7:52,

Daily Bible Nugget #229, John 7:52

I found some things there that I myself forgot I had written!

I stated (based on notes in the Companion Bible):

If they had looked, they would have found that Jonah and Hosea arose out of Galilee, and perhaps Elijah, Elisha, and Amos (CB). See Isa 9:2 where the Messiah as the great light arises in all likelihood out of Galilee (Isa 9:1).

The scribes and Pharisees were unaware of the geography of their own country!

The facts as given incidentally in the Bible do confirm that Jonah, Hosea, Elijah, Elisha, and Amos arose out of Galilee. The way to ferret this information out from the Bible is to follow carefully the cross references given in The Ultimate Cross Reference Treasury.

For Elijah, referred to as “Elijah the Tishbite,” see the references and notes given at 1 Kings 17:1,

the Tishbite. i.e. captivity; recourse, *S# H8664. 1Ki 21:17; 1Ki 21:28, 2Ki 1:3; 2Ki 1:8; 2Ki 9:36, From Tishbe, a city of Naphtali in Galilee (Young). +*Joh 7:52.

For Jonah, see the references and notes given at 2 Kings 14:25,

2Ki 14:25  He restored the coast of Israel from the entering of Hamath unto the sea of the plain, according to the word of the LORD God of Israel, which he spake by the hand of his servant Jonah, the son of Amittai, the prophet, which was of Gathhepher.

Jonah. i.e. a dove. +Jon 1:1, Mat 12:39, 40; Mat 16:4, Jonas.

Amittai. i.e. true, steadfast. *S# H573: 2Ki 14:25, Jon 1:1.

Gath-hepher. i.e. wine-press of the well. S# H1662. Jos 19:13, Gittah-hepher. +*Joh 7:52, In Zebulun, in Galilee.

For Micah, see the references and notes given at Micah 1:1,

Mic 1:1  The word of the LORD that came to Micah the Morasthite in the days of Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, which he saw concerning Samaria and Jerusalem.

Micah. i.e. who is like Jehovah?

(2) The sixth of the minor prophets, a native of Moresheth-gath, west of Jerusalem, in Gath. Thus Micah is one of several prophets who did come out of Galilee (%Joh 7:52). He was a contemporary of Isaiah, and prophesied during the reigns of Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, B.C. 750-698,

Morasthite. Micah is one of several prophets who did come out of Galilee (%Joh 7:52), as did Jonah (Jon 1:1 note), Hosea, and probably Elijah, Elisha, and Amos. Mic 1:14, +Jer 26:18.

It seems ironic that the scribes and Pharisees of Jesus’s day were not more aware of at least these examples found in their own Hebrew Scriptures of prophets who did arise out of Galilee.

Maybe I should cut them a little slack, though. They had to read and search through Bible books scroll by scroll. They could not have imagined back then anything like the instantaneous search results we can now get for our Bible studies using digital resources.

Daily Bible Nugget #642, John 7:52

The Nugget:

John 7:52  They answered and said unto him, Art thou also of Galilee? Search, and look: for out of Galilee ariseth no prophet.

My Comment:

I suspect that very few who read John 7:52 posted above will see the point. I think John as he wrote this verse had a smile on his face. If it were me, I could hardly contain my laughter at the subtle humor John employed here. This has everything to do with knowing the Rules of Interpretation. Jesus knew them. John knew them. The scribes and Pharisees did not! And neither did Satan when he quoted the Bible to Jesus as reported in Matthew 4:6.

It has been some time since I last wrote here about the Rules of Interpretation which must be followed carefully to arrive at the correct meaning of any written document, including the Bible.

I just noticed that my numbering of the rules as found in the October 2010 Archives to the right of this page do not correspond to my numbering as given in my resource, The Ultimate Cross Reference Treasury. This post is about Rule 6 in the Archives which is Rule 5 in the UCRT.

Interpret a particular passage in harmony with all other passages which may have a bearing upon the subject. All relevant evidence must be taken into account to arrive at the correct interpretation.

I notice that in the October 2010 Archives I have given a longer statement for this rule:

Interpret a particular passage in harmony with ALL other passages which may have a bearing upon the subject. This is exceedingly important. You cannot cherry-pick your evidence. All relevant evidence must be taken into account to come up with the correct interpretation.

Groups like the Jehovah’s Witnesses, the Roman Catholics, Calvinists, Seventh Day Adventists, the Church of Christ, and many others flagrantly violate this rule and come up with very mistaken interpretations of the Bible.

To successfully find ALL the relevant passages about a subject, you MUST do Real Bible Study and make full and careful use of such tools as an exhaustive concordance to the Bible (Strong’s Concordance is a good choice) and a source of full and complete cross references to every verse in the Bible (such as The Treasury of Scripture KnowledgeThe New Treasury of Scripture Knowledge, or Nelson’s Cross Reference Guide to the Bible).

If you haven’t made full use of these resources (or their equivalent, including the now available digital resources like the e-Sword Bible Software and The Ultimate Cross Reference Treasury) don’t kid yourself into supposing you have properly considered ALL the passages pertaining to the subject, issue, or doctrine you are considering.

Now, if you have read carefully what I just wrote above, you may feel that you are among the many whose toes I just stepped on!

That is why, now once again, this Real Bible Study site has a comment box below that now actually works. Facebook arbitrarily (in my view) turned it off some while back but I have now met their requirements for this site so they graciously and quite promptly turned the visibility of comments back on. So feel free to chime in.

Daily Bible Nugget #641, Proverbs 23:27

The Nugget:

Pro 23:27  For a whore is a deep ditch; and a strange woman is a narrow pit.

My Comment:

Character is all-important. High moral standards are essential. This passage may seem a bit strange for a “Daily Bible Nugget.” The reason I selected this passage is that a few weeks ago I saw a post on an atheist website which tried to mock the Bible in direct reference to this verse.

The Bible tells us that “Fools make a mock at sin: but among the righteous there is favour” (Proverbs 14:9).

The poster said he needed to know what was meant by a pit, and wondered how deep it was, so he could decide for himself if the sought-for pleasure was more rewarding than the threatened hazard of the pit.

Any careful reader of the Bible ought to know that a “pit” was used as a trap to catch animals who fell in it in Bible times.

The practical application, knowing this bit of information, ought to be most plain.

A related subject given in the Subject Index of my resource, The Ultimate Cross Reference Treasury, is “Snares of the Devil” (Deuteronomy 7:25). Another related topic is “Snares laid by sinners” (Psalm 5:9). At each topic verse many additional verses are given.

Is there such a thing as objective moral standards? Some atheists, and many in the world at large, would try to argue that there are no moral absolutes. But the fact is that there are objective moral standards, and that fact is a very good proof that God exists, for He is the author of them.

For those who would like to study the cross references for Proverbs 23:27, I furnish them below in a form more complete than they will be found in either the New Treasury or The Ultimate Cross Reference Treasury:

Proverbs 23:27

For a whore. Pro 9:15. Gen 39:10. Ecc 7:26. Hos 4:11.

deep ditch. +*Pro 22:14 (*S# H7745).

strange woman. Pro 2:16; Pro 5:3, Pro 5:4, Pro 5:20. Pro 20:16. Num 31:16. Jdg 16:4. Ecc 7:26, Jer 10:2.

pit. Heb. be-er, +Gen 16:14.
