Daily Bible Nugget #277, Psalm 119:133

The Nugget:

Psalm 119:133 Order my steps in thy word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me.

My Comment:

Saints pray to be conformed to the Scriptures (The New Topical Textbook, subtopic under the main heading “The Scriptures,” page 240).

The Psalmist prayed that his steps would be directed by God’s Word. He likewise prayed for God not to let any iniquity or sin have dominion over him. If a person reads and studies the Bible prefaced by a prayer such as this, God will indeed answer and provide direction for life and spiritual strength to defeat temptations to sin (Psalm 119:11).

How needful or practical is this information for the lives of believers today?

There is evidence in Scripture that we might be falling short of the glorious privileges God through our Lord Jesus Christ and His Sacrificial-Priestly Atonement has provided for us in this life, in the here and now.

Is the sacrifice of Christ, and the shedding of His blood on the cross, of any greater value and effect for believers in this life than the animal sacrifices of the Levitical order of the past?

Scripture tells us quite bluntly that the Levitical sacrifices of the blood of animals “can never take away sin” (Hebrews 10:4, 11).

Is the blood of Christ any more efficacious?

Man-made theologies (particularly Calvinism and the Penal Satisfaction Theory of the Atonement) tell us that it is impossible to live above sin, to experience holiness, in this life. Calvinists, and no doubt others, place holiness into the future, something to be experienced after death in the next life.

But that is not what Paul taught in 1 Thessalonians 5:23.

Calvinists (and many others) teach the doctrine of imputed righteousness. In my further study of the Bible, I am coming to believe that the doctrine of imputation is a false doctrine, even heresy. Like the idea of propitiation, it has no proper place in the Bible. This mistaken salvation vocabulary or terminology crept into our Bible translations at the time of the Protestant Reformation. The Protestant Reformers were surely used of God to start the Reformation. But the Reformation is not over yet. The Protestant Reformers did much good, but they unwittingly accepted the salvation vocabulary of the Roman Catholic Church and left it in our Protestant Bible translations. The Protestant Reformers were likewise not well-informed or well-taught about Bible prophecy. In other words, much has been learned since the time of the Protestant Reformation about these Bible subjects.

It is time to call a spade a spade. It is time to stop accepting error as if it were the truth. It is time to challenge blatant heresy, and label it for what it is.

The Psalmist prayed that his steps would be ordered or directed by God’s Word. He further prayed, “let not any iniquity have dominion over me” (Psalm 119:133).

Was the Psalmist mistaken in his prayer? Or are some of us mistaken in our theology such that we could not pray such a prayer in the light of what Christ has accomplished for us by means of His shed blood?

The Greek text of the New Testament verse, Ephesians 1:7, expresses not only the idea that we have forgiveness of sins through His blood, but the actual removal of sin–a fact consistently hidden in most English translations, perhaps in support of a very popular but mistaken theory of the Atonement.

Daily Bible Nugget #276, Psalm 119:66

The Nugget:

Psalm 119:66 Teach me good judgment and knowledge: for I have believed thy commandments.

My Comment:

Saints pray to be taught the Scriptures (The New Topical Textbook, subheading under the main heading “The Scriptures,” page 240).

Saints are ordinary Bible believers. A true believer in the Bible will indeed pray to be taught the Scriptures. Anyone who does not have a desire to increase in their knowledge and understanding of the Scriptures might well be spiritually dead!

Who would not want to increase their fund of good judgment and knowledge? Good judgment or discernment and greater knowledge would surely come in handy at times. The Psalmist prayed for these to the One who is best able to supply them. The Psalmist expresses his full trust in God’s Word, stating “for I have believed thy commandments.”

God’s Word in the Bible is the source of good judgment and knowledge. I believe if more people, especially young people, had this kind of hunger for God’s Word in their lives, they would be equipped with the judgment or discernment and knowledge they need to wisely direct their lives. This is the answer to the declining morality that we see and hear about every day–but few are doing anything about. The solution is obvious. And the solution works.

Daily Bible Nugget #275, Psalm 119:33

The Nugget:

Psa 119:33 Teach me, O LORD, the way of thy statutes; and I shall keep it unto the end.

My Comment:

Saints pray to be taught the Scriptures (The New Topical Textbook, subheading under main heading “The Scriptures,” page 240).

The Psalmist prayed for the Lord to teach him the Scriptures, specifically, “the way of thy statutes.” The Bible does commend a particular way of living. That way is not the way of the world. Psalm 15:1, 2-3, 4, 5, provides a good summary statement of just what that way is. The principles given in Psalm 15 are as valid for us today as they were valid for the readers and singers in the time of David. The principles named in Psalm 15 are given as a statement about what kind of lifestyle or “way” is required to qualify to enter God’s heaven.

When it came to arriving at an understanding of God’s Word, the Bible, note carefully that the Psalmist did not seek the official teaching authority of his day. The Psalmist appealed directly to the Lord Himself for assistance in understanding His written word in the Bible. We should too. We can make Psalm 119:18 our own prayer.

It is most important to come to a correct understanding of God’s Word. We can only do that by taking the time to read the Bible, study the Bible, and pray for God’s help in understanding it.

Daily Bible Nugget #274, Psalm 119:18

The Nugget:

Psalm 119:18 Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law.

My Comment:

Saints pray to be taught the Scriptures (The New Topical Textbook, subtopic under the main topic “The Scriptures,” page 240).

The Psalmist prayed that God would open his eyes. The Psalmist wanted to behold wondrous things out of God’s law. God’s word, the Bible, is indeed full of wondrous things. One life is not long enough–even if you start in childhood–to learn all that is in the Bible. The more you do learn, the more interesting and exciting it gets. God will open our eyes too, if we ask Him to do so, so that we will understand the Scriptures.

I suggest that we start with a plain-text Bible first. The idea is to let the Bible speak for itself. Start by reading straight through the New Testament. Some chapters you will like so well you may wish to read them over again several times. Once you have read through the New Testament once or twice, focus on reading and rereading a particular book of the New Testament. For example, if you happen to choose the Gospel of John, reading three chapters a day will let you finish it once a week. Doing this for a month will help you get much better acquainted with that Gospel. As you notice verses that are particularly meaningful to you, or verses you want to understand better, look up the cross references for those verses. You will be amazed, enlightened, and encouraged to find how the whole Bible ties together when you study cross references.

Once you have gotten as much as you can by your own independent Bible study of a particular passage or Bible book, you can consult some study Bibles if you have access to them and learn more things that you may have missed on your own.

Now, just what should you do with the knowledge and insight God enables you to gain from your study of His Word? You may be in the position to teach the truths you learn to your own children. Even if your children attend public school, it would be a good idea to home school your children in the Bible. They won’t learn much Bible in public school, most likely. They can learn much about the Bible in Sunday school, and some churches employ catechism classes to that end quite successfully–except I have noticed that sometimes the intensive instruction comes to a close at just the point more and deeper instruction would be spiritually beneficial. That additional, continuing instruction could well take place in the home as parents teach their children. You may also use your new-found knowledge of the Bible as preparation and background for teaching a Sunday school class yourself. You would find that the discipline of preparing weekly Sunday school lessons is a good way to learn more yourself. We always learn more when we teach what we know to others. All this could lead to the opportunity to teach and guide young people in a church youth group.

The main thing is to get into the Bible for yourself. Like the Psalmist, ask God to open your eyes to the wonderful truth it contains.

The Nugget:

Psalm 119:12 Blessed art thou, O LORD: teach me thy statutes.

My Comment:

Saints pray to be taught the Scriptures (The New Topical Textbook, subtopic under the main heading “The Scriptures,” page 240).

Notice that the Psalmist prays to God to teach him the Scriptures. God welcomes us to do the same. I find a model prayer to this end just a few verses later at Psalm 119:18, “Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law.” The teaching provided by our pastors and Sunday school teachers is certainly of great help to our understanding of the Bible, and we should pray for and thank God for these teachers in our life. But God has privileged us in this day and age to be in a position to study and learn from the Bible for ourselves. Don’t miss the benefits of taking advantage of the privilege God has given us to learn more from and about the Scriptures.

Daily Bible Nugget #272, Psalm 119:105

The Nugget:

Psalm 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

My Comment:

Saints esteem the Scriptures as a light (The New Topical Textbook, subtopic under the main heading “The Scriptures,” page 240).

Have you ever been left in the dark at night during a thunderstorm when the power went out? It can get really dark with no lights. If you are in your own home when this happens you probably know where everything is and can get around without too much trouble. If you live far enough out in the countryside being without power can also mean you are without water or anything else powered by electricity. In such deep darkness, about the first thing you reach for is a flashlight. By its light you can see where you are going and walk about much more safely–if the batteries are not dead!

So the Bible, God’s Word, is a light to our path. It can keep us on the right path if we take the time to read and study it. If God’s Word is a light to our path, that means the Bible teaches it is understandable. There are those who would argue that because no two individuals, and especially no two different denominations, agree on what appear to be even the basics taught in the Bible, the Bible clearly is not understandable by itself. Therefore, the Bible needs an official interpreter, which they like to claim is their one true church. But in the case of the most prominent of these “one true church” claimants, the one true church has only officially pronounced a required-to-be-believed interpretation of between seven and nine verses! That would not seem to be much official guidance from that source, even if that source could be trusted to be correct. But the Bible does not require an official teaching authority to tell us what it means. The Bible is a light to our path. It won’t lead us into darkness!

Of course, if you are not reading, studying, and believing the Bible yourself, you are in the dark in the midst of the storms of life. Get into the Bible for yourself and let it shed God’s light on your daily path.

Daily Bible Nugget #271, Psalm 119:172

The Nugget:

Psalm 119:172 My tongue shall speak of thy word: for all thy commandments are righteousness.

My Comment:

Saints speak of the Scriptures (The New Topical Textbook, subtopic under the main topic “The Scriptures,” page 240).

“Saints” as a Bible term has reference to ordinary people who believe the Bible and whose lives have been transformed by its message.

If you believe in the Bible, and read it faithfully, and even study it, the Bible should become ever more interesting to you. We tend to talk with other people about the things that interest us, things we get excited about.

Our society today seems to have manufactured “safe” subjects, like sports, and Political Correctness as a means of lessening the embarrassment of taking part in intelligent conversation about more vital matters. Have you noticed that many people cannot stand complete silence? Some of these conversation avoidance patterns may become a hedge to keep others out of our lives, or are used to keep us out of their lives. I suppose for many people, the last thing they would wish to talk about is the Bible! I even had a pastor tell me one time, “Jerry, you talk too much about the Bible and too much about the Lord.”

If we are genuine Christians, we ought to be interested in the Bible. If we are interested in the Bible, we surely ought to be talking about the Bible (Psalm 119:172). We should talk about the Bible to our children (Deuteronomy 6:7). As God opens the door of opportunity, we ought to be talking to others about the Bible (1 Peter 3:15) and answering their questions about our faith. As Bible believers, we ought to be talking with each other about the Bible and spiritual things (Malachi 3:16, 17). If we observe a friend or acquaintance going down the wrong path in life, we ought to warn them (Leviticus 19:17). We ought to be excited about our relationship to God, and be willing to share our testimony with others (Psalm 107:2). Since the Gospel of Christ is the power of God unto salvation (Romans 1:16), we surely should share what the Bible has to say about how to be saved with those who are not saved.

I think that contemporary culture has lost the foundation and focus it once had, a focus that was in the past more in agreement with the values found in the Bible. The Psalmist says God’s commandments are righteous, or just. Yet many people today think they disagree with the Bible. Those who believe the Bible seem to be falling short in sharing the message of the Bible with others in their own circle of influence. I think it is fair to say that most people who think they disagree with the Bible actually disagree with a caricature of the Bible and its Christ. If they were more fully informed of what the Bible and its Christ are all about, they would not be so prone to reject its message. To fix that problem, we need more Christians to learn to share what they know about the Bible with others, then actually do so. Christians in the early church were spoken of as those who turned the world upside down (Acts 17:6). We need to express that same urgency in sharing the Bible and our Lord Jesus Christ. If we were successful as the early church was successful, the society as a whole could literally be turned around for the better by the power of the Gospel.

Daily Bible Nugget #270, John 17:6

The Nugget:

John 17:6 I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word.

My Comment:

Saints obey the Scriptures (The New Topical Textbook, subheading under the main heading “The Scriptures,” page 240).

Jesus said of His disciples, “they have kept thy word” (John 17:6). That is an amazing statement. Recall that the two brothers, James and John, involved their mother in a request to have the privilege of being seated on the right and on the left of Christ in His kingdom. When the others heard of it, they were very upset at James and John (Matthew 20:24). Jesus had told them (Matthew 20:25, 26) that though the Gentile powers of that day exercised dominion over their subjects, Jesus ordered “But it shall not be so among you” (Matthew 20:26). I believe in this text Jesus taught against hierarchy. Perhaps some semblance of hierarchy seems necessary in church organization today, but I often wonder if this is really the will of our Lord Jesus Christ. The first churches established by the original twelve apostles and Paul were “house churches” that met in homes (Romans 16:3-5). There were no denominations then. But right after Jesus taught against hierarchy it seems the disciples got into quite a discussion among themselves about “who should be the greatest” (Mark 9:34). The fact that the disciples could even have such a discussion among themselves is surely proof positive that they did not take the words of Matthew 16:18, 19 to mean that Peter had the pre-eminence among them assigned by Christ Himself, though one major church stakes its claim to be the One True Church upon this text. One evidence of the authenticity of the Gospel record is that it clearly points up the flaws and foibles of the people it depicts–even of the apostles themselves. They were very human. But that is what makes the claim of Jesus all the more striking when He said of them, “They have kept thy word” (John 17:6). This is a most interesting theme to trace through Scripture. The only way I know of that you can trace this theme is by following out the cross references assembled for this amazing passage. I share the cross references below for your blessing and further spiritual insight. But the chief point at issue is that the apostles obeyed God’s Word. God has made provision for us that we should do the same through the power of His Holy Spirit working in our lives to produce the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22, 23) as the result of the regenerative change He produces in our lives when we believe in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17; Titus 3:5).

The Rapture Question Answered, Part 7

I am writing this series about the Rapture in response to an email letter I received from Mr. John Little on April 28, 2014 which he wrote against the pre-tribulation Rapture view. I believe his “Shock Letter” is very well done, and deserves close reading, and a careful hearing. If he should be correct in his argument, if he is correct on a point where I have been wrong, I am obligated to change my view on that point. The pre-tribulation Rapture view has been much attacked of late, and I have read the testimonies of many Christians who state they were taught the pre-tribulation viewpoint, but no longer hold that view. So far in my studies, I believe they have unwittingly left the correct view and adopted a false one.

Mr. Little writes:

Judgment Begins At The House Of God

Please understand that God IS going to pour out His wrath upon the church because of their sins and their disbelief. For proof, look no further than this:

For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear? – 1 Peter 4:17-18

God is furious at the sin in the church. We have become just like the world, and by our actions, we have blasphemed the name of God. We deserve the wrath of a holy God, and we’re going to get it. But, you don’t have to suffer that wrath.

You can obey God and avoid what is coming. The obedient are never appointed unto wrath, but the disobedient ALWAYS are.

Will you obey?

That is a good challenge. The church has indeed become so much like the world of the unsaved that various polls have shown that the church is indistinguishable from the world in its divorce rate and on many points its belief system.

But that has no bearing upon the truth or falsehood of the pre-tribulation Rapture doctrine!

Mr. Little next states:

Rebellion

God has harsh words for those who rebel against Him:

For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the Lord, he hath also rejected thee from being king. – 1 Samuel 15:23

If you have gotten to this point in this article, you know that the Pre-Tribulation Rapture Theory is wrong. You might still be fighting it, but deep down, you know that we are going through the Tribulation. And, if you keep fighting this, you are in rebellion against God.

And, rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft in the eyes of God. (And, you know who they worship in witchcraft.)

Furthermore, this is not the first time that I’ve talked about this.

I have gotten “to this point in this article,” and I am not at all convinced that the Pre-Tribulation Rapture Theory is wrong. Actually, I am more convinced than ever that my position in support of the Pre-Tribulation Rapture Theory is correct, and in Parts 1-6 of this series, The Rapture Question Answered, I have provided Biblical support for my position, and pointed out several different kinds of flaws present in Mr. Little’s argument so far.

But Mr. Little gets better as he proceeds:

Jesuit Pre-Tribulation Rapture Theory Fraud

In February of last year, I proved to you that the Pre-Tribulation Rapture Theory was a fraud. It was started by a book published in 1811 – written by a Jesuit priest, Manuel Lacunza. That book was published ten years after his death, and it has infected Christianity with its Jesuit lie. I traced the history of this infection, here:

Jesuit Pretrib Rapture

It went from the Jesuits to Edward Irving. From Irving, it went to John Nelson Darby. From Darby, it went to Cyrus Ingerson Scofield. When it got to Scofield, it was all over.

Are you going to fall for a Jesuit lie?

Please remember that the Jesuits are the same people that brought you the Illuminati.

If you need a video, there’s this one:

“After the Tribulation: The Pre-Tribulation Rapture Fraud Exposed” Official Movie

Mr. Little has fallen victim to the ad hominem fallacy in logic: attack the character of the supposed source of a doctrine and/or its history, rather than carefully examining the Biblical evidence and proving from the Bible the falsity or truthfulness of a doctrine.

Mr. Little continues:

You Must Love The Truth

By now, you have seen the truth. I am now calling you to love the truth. Loving something doesn’t mean that you like it, but it does mean that you hold to it, anyway. But, if you choose not to love the truth, beware.

Please take heed to what Paul says:

And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. – 2 Thessalonians 2:8-12

I strongly dislike the idea that we are going to go through the Tribulation. I hate pain and suffering, and I hate the thought that the people I love will be suffering also. But, I am commanded to love the truth, and that means accepting it – even though I do not want to.

I accept what the Bible says about going through the Tribulation, even though I do not like it.

Will you join me in this acceptance of The Truth?

Those who are well taught, well-informed about what the Bible teaches will not join Mr. Little in this matter. In 2 Thessalonians chapter 2 Paul appealed to the Thessalonian Christian believers who were confused over this very issue that they had fallen into a trap or snare and had become, as it were, greatly deceived.

Contrary to Paul’s teaching, the Thessalonians had been nearly convinced that they had missed the Rapture and that the Resurrection of the righteous had already taken place, and consequently they were actually in the time of the Day of the Lord.

Paul pointed out in 2 Thessalonians 2:1 that he had already taught them about the Rapture, our gathering unto Christ, and that this event takes place before the Day of the Lord begins. It even takes place before the great falling away or apostasy. It takes place before the coming and revelation of the Antichrist.

The error that the Thessalonians had fallen into, prompted by false spirits teaching deception, and even a counterfeit letter written as if it were from Paul (2 Thessalonians 2:2), parallels what Mr. Little is teaching in his letter in this way:

Paul gives this order of events:

(1) first, our gathering together unto Him (2 Thessalonians 2:1), a reference to the Pre-tribulation Rapture taught in 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18. We know the Rapture is before the Great Tribulation because the Great Tribulation takes place during the Day of the Lord. Paul writes of these events in 1 Thessalonians in the order they are to take place: he mentions the Rapture in chapter 4; he mentions the Day of the Lord in chapter 5 (1 Thessalonians 5:2). As certain as it is that chapter 4 comes before chapter 5, just that certain it is that the Rapture comes before the Day of the Lord and the Great Tribulation.

(2) next, “a falling away first.” This is the time of a great apostasy (2 Thessalonians 2:3) that follows the Rapture of the true believers mentioned already in 2 Thessalonians 2:1.

(3) next, Paul mentions the revelation of the “man of sin,” a title of the Antichrist (2 Thessalonians 2:3, 4).

(4) finally, Paul makes mention of the fact that the Antichrist has not yet come on the scene, being hindered from doing so (2 Thessalonians 2:6), until the time that hindrance is removed (2 Thessalonians 2:7).

(5) Paul ends the discussion with no mention of either a Rapture or a resurrection to follow these enumerated events which he had already taught them about (2 Thessalonians 2:5), therefore from this passage in 2 Thessalonians it is not possible to properly place the Rapture and its accompanying resurrection of the righteous dead in Christ at some point subsequent to the appearance of Antichrist and the Day of the Lord.

The false teachers Paul is writing to refute held to this order:

(1) The Day of the Lord (2 Thessalonians 2:2, better substantiated reading of the original Greek texts) is now present (taught to the Thessalonians during a time they were suffering great persecution);

(2) Leaving the options that either the Thessalonians missed the Rapture and the resurrection of the dead in Christ since it allegedly took place already, or those events were sometime in the future after the Day of the Lord they had now entered.

The teaching of those who follow the Post-tribulation Rapture Theory more closely follows the false teaching Paul writes to correct, and not the order of events taught by Paul. Mr. Little follows the Post-tribulation Rapture position.

Mr. Little continues:

True Biblical Proof

So, let me bring you back to where we started, the Bible. I showed you that there are three things that MUST happen before the Rapture, and there is no way that you can get around these proofs. Here are those three things that must come BEFORE THE RAPTURE:

The Antichrist

The Resurrection

The Tribulation

There will be no Rapture until after those three things. Period.

Again, here is what Paul says in 2 Thessalonians 2:

Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. – 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4

This means that the Antichrist MUST come before the Rapture.

I am sorry, Mr. Little. I do not read in the passage you have cited from 2 Thessalonians 2:3, 4 ANYTHING about either the Rapture or the Resurrection. Those things are not mentioned here. And where they are mentioned, they are not at all mentioned in the order you specify, as I fully proved in my Part 1 and Part 2 of this series about your letter, The Rapture Question Answered. All of the Parts I have written in this series may be conveniently accessed together under the Category given at the right side of this page, “Bible Prophecy.”

I’ve covered the first six pages as they stand in my saved copy of Mr. Little’s excellent letter about the Rapture. My file contains 28 pages, so there is more to come for next time, The Rapture Question Answered, Part 8.

Daily Bible Nugget #269, Luke 8:21

The Nugget:

Luke 8:21 And he answered and said unto them, My mother and my brethren are these which hear the word of God, and do it.

My Comment:

Saints obey the Scriptures (The New Topical Textbook, subtopic under the main topic, “The Scriptures,” page 240).

This was, to my mind, undoubtedly one of the most trying times in the life of Mary, the mother of our Lord Jesus Christ. The story behind what is happening in Luke 8:21 is not much spoken of, or preached about, that I have ever heard.

The Pharisees were engaged in a plot to kill Jesus. At this point they engaged His own family members against Him. This is made more clear in Mark chapter 3, which is a parallel account. Jesus was protected providentially both by the crowds that surrounded Him, making Him inaccessible to Mary and his brothers (recall the comment in John that “neither did his brethren believe in him,” John 7:5), and by the fact he was in a house so full of people no one could come in from outside to get at him.

Mary and her children and family friends had become persuaded that Jesus was “beside himself” (Mark 3:21). Members of the audience informed Jesus that His mother and brothers were outside the house trying to communicate to Him. Jesus responded with the words of the above text in Luke 8:21, “My mother and my brethren are these which hear the word of God, and do it.” Mark tells us in Mark 3:35 that Jesus said, “For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.”

Surely at the point when Jesus said this, Mary and the brothers of Jesus were not doing the will of God, and were not about the business of hearing and doing the word of God. Those who make much of Mary as the mother of God (really a misnomer because she was the mother of our Lord’s humanity, not divinity!) need to realize that most clearly here she was not sinless–she had, along with her sons, the half-brothers of Jesus, been deceived by the snare of Satan into attempting to betray Jesus by their attempt to turn Him over to the Pharisees (Mark 3:2, 6, 21, 31). Let this account be a lesson. Satan is very clever in his conniving efforts to lead us astray or to ensnare us. The way to keep on track in faithfulness to God is to hear God’s Word as it is now recorded for us in the Bible, and to obey God’s Word.
