Daily Bible Nugget #21, Psalm 37:24

The Nugget:

Psalm 37:24 Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand.

My Comment:

Naomi thought the hand of the Lord was against her. But we now have the whole package, the complete revelation of God to us as it is given in the Bible. Rather than supposing that the hand of the Lord is against us, may we learn from this passage that the Lord is upholding us with his hand. When we get upset at God because of our circumstances, sometimes the fault is our own, for we are not solidly convinced about the character of God as it is revealed in Scripture. The more we read and study the Bible, the more we get to know God. The better we know God, the better we understand his character, his attributes. The Bible teaches that God is no respecter of persons. He does not treat some of us less fairly than others! Difficulties and trials are sometimes sent our way to strengthen our character and build our trust in him to prepare us to help someone God may later send across our path to whom we can be an encouragement.
