Note<\/em>.\u2014Though this power is said to be given to Christ in his mediatorial<\/em> capacity, to be mediatorially<\/em> exercised<\/em> by him as “Head over all things to the church” [Eph 1:22], it is evident that it could neither be received or exercised by any Being less than God; nor by a creature (if possible), without disparagement of the Creator (De Burgh, p. 133).<\/p>\n
