The Nugget:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Psa 34:6\u00a0 This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.<\/p>\n

My Comment:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Psalm 34:6 meant much to me as I forged ahead with my project to produce the\u00a0New Treasury of Scripture Knowledge<\/em> after my dreadful experience of being shot in the teachers’ parking lot at the back of Southeastern High School. I was off from teaching for the next nearly five years. During that time I typed the text of the\u00a0New Treasury<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Once the\u00a0New Treasury of Scripture Knowledge<\/em> was\u00a0 published in 1992, I soon\u00a0 received a letter of thanks for my work from Ken Sagely. We’ve been in touch ever since. Ken is the person who suggested the idea of posting daily Bible nuggets here. I have not been able to post them daily, but I’ve posted quite a few so far. Ken has given me permission to post his Facebook Bible messages here. Just now as I am busier with outdoor tasks like helping my wife plant and now water the garden, Ken’s contributions here have been helpful to me.<\/p>\n

Let The Weary Taste God\u2019s Mercy!<\/p>\n

PSALM 34.8 O taste and see that the\u00a0Lord is good; How blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!<\/p>\n

PSALM 36.7 How precious is Your Lovingkindness,\u00a0O God! And the children of men take refuge in the\u00a0shadow of Your wings. 8 They drink their fill of the abundance of Your house; And You give them to drink\u00a0of the river of your delights.<\/p>\n

PSALM 107.8-9 Let them give thanks to the Lord for\u00a0His Lovingkindness, And for HIs wonders to the sons\u00a0of men! 9 For He has satisfied the thirsty soul, And\u00a0the hungry soul He has filled with what is good.<\/p>\n

MATTHEW 11.28-29 Come to Me, all who are weary and\u00a0and heavy laden and I will give you rest. 29 Take my\u00a0yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and\u00a0humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls.<\/p>\n

JOHN 1.12-13 But as many as received Him, to them He gave\u00a0the right to become children of God, even to those who believe\u00a0in His name. 13 who were born, not of blood nor of the will of\u00a0the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.<\/p>\n

DAY BY DAY<\/p>\n

Day by day and with each passing moment,
\nstrength to meet\u00a0my trials here;
\ntrusting in my Father’s wise bestowment
\nI\u2019ve no\u00a0cause for worry or for fear.<\/p>\n

He whose heart is kind beyond all\u00a0measure
\ngives unto each day what He deems best
\nlovingly\u00a0its part of pain and pleasure,
\nmingling toil with peace and rest.<\/p>\n

The protection of His child and treasure
\nis a charge that on\u00a0Himself He laid.
\n“As thy days, my strength shall be in\u00a0measure,”
\nThis the pledge to me He made. Deut 33.25<\/p>\n
