11-14-22 Amazing Grace<\/p>\n

Thanks to Ken Sagely for this contribution! I saw it on Facebook this morning. There is an inspiring story behind this great hymn, a hymn written by a once slave-ship captain who was converted to Christ and was thereafter a remarkably changed man who was instrumental in England for ending the slave trade.<\/p>\n

Amazing grace! How sweet the sound,
\nThat saved a wretch like me!<\/p>\n

I was lost,\u00a0but now am found,
\nWas blind, but now I see.<\/p>\n

The Lord’s Day<\/p>\n

Acts 13.38 Be it known unto\u00a0you therefore, men and brethren, that through\u00a0this man is preached unto you the forgiveness\u00a0of sins.<\/p>\n

John 1.29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world!<\/p>\n

1 John 2.12 I write unto you, little children, because\u00a0your sins are forgiven you for His name’s sake.<\/p>\n

Ephesians 1.6-7 To the praise of the glory of his Grace\u00a0wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved: 7\u00a0In whom we have redemption through his blood,\u00a0the forgiveness of sins ,according to the riches of his\u00a0Grace;<\/p>\n

Ephesians 2.8 For by Grace are you saved\u00a0through faith; and that not of yourselves ; it is the\u00a0gift of God; 9 Not of works, lest any man should\u00a0boast.<\/p>\n

Ephesians 2.5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by\u00a0Grace are ye saved) v7 That in the ages to come\u00a0He might show the exceeding riches of His Grace\u00a0in his kindness toward us, through Christ Jesus.<\/p>\n

Romans 6.14 For sin shall not have dominion over you,\u00a0for you are not under the law, but under Grace.<\/p>\n

Heb 4.16 Let us come boldly unto the throne of Grace,\u00a0that we may obtain mercy, and find Grace to help\u00a0in time of need.<\/p>\n

Through many dangers, toils, and snares,
\nI have already come;<\/p>\n

Tis Grace that hath brought me safe this far,
\nAnd Grace will lead me home.<\/p>\n
