(EB,\u00a0<em>Emphasized Bible<\/em> by Rotherham)<\/p>\n<p>Pro 29:2 When the upright have power, the people are glad; when an evil man is ruler, grief comes on the people. (BBE, Bible in Basic English)<\/p>\n<p>Pro 29:2\u00a0 When righteous people increase, the people of God rejoice, but when a wicked person rules, everybody groans. (GW, God&#8217;s Word transation)<\/p>\n<p>Pro 29:2 When justice rules a nation, everyone is glad; when injustice rules, everyone groans.<\/p>\n<p><strong>My Comment:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The events of recent days surely illustrate the truth and wisdom of Proverbs 29:2.<\/p>\n<p>There seems to be a shortage of righteous people.<\/p>\n<p>Notice the cause\/effect relationships presented in this verse:<\/p>\n<p>(a) cause: when righteous people increase; (b) effect: the people of God rejoice.<\/p>\n<p>(c) cause: when an evil man is ruler, (d) grief comes on the people.<\/p>\n<p>What is the solution? There needs to be a vast increase in the number of righteous people. I think that one way to reach that goal is to win souls (Proverbs 11:30). I need to add Proverbs 29:2 to the list, I see. I had not noticed this cause\/effect relationship verse in my studies before.
