Daily Bible Nugget #46, Philippians 4:6

The Nugget:

Philippians 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

My Comment:

Some people get life backwards. They operate on the principle of “Why pray, when I can worry?” whereas it ought to be “Why worry, when I can pray?” God invites us to share our requests with him. That makes for a very good principle of prayer. The following verses are favorites of mine too, and were given as part of the task for Scripture memory, the reference being Philippians 4:6-9. But those are such rich texts for meditation it would not be possible to comment within the brevity of a “Bible Nugget” and do them justice, so I’ll save them, Lord willing, for future posts. But you might enjoy reading them now just the same:

Php 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Php 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Php 4:9 Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.
