Daily Bible Nugget #27, Psalm 119:100

The Nugget:

Psalm 119:100 I understand more than the ancients, because I keep thy precepts.

My Comment:

Once again, the Psalmist affirms that by heeding what the Bible says, by reading, studying, and actually obeying its precepts, his understanding has come to surpass those who are far older than he. Once again, firm evidence that the Bible itself teaches that it can be understood. Understanding the Bible gives wisdom to those who obey what they understand. Solomon said, “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding” (Proverbs 4:7). All of my former students ought to recall Proverbs 4:7, for that was the first of many daily proverbs and quotations I posted on the blackboard of my classroom each new school year. One of the most important places to get that wisdom is from the Bible itself.

For those who desire to DIG DEEPER into this subject:

shall be loved of my father, and i will love him, and will manifest to him. jn 14.23
jesus answered and said unto him, if a man love me, he will keep my words; and
my father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
