The Nugget:
Mat 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
My Comment:
At the start of this new year, it might be well for us to check our hearts!
It would help to know what the Bible means, and what Jesus meant, when He spoke of being “pure in heart.”
I suspect that this ties in to Hebrews 12:14,
Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:
I see a connection here, because the positive aspect, “they shall see God,” seems to relate to “without which no man shall see the Lord.”
God’s Word, as found only in the Bible, is designed to cleanse us, guide us, and many other things, including feed us spiritually.
If you want to draw nearer to God, the Bible tells us that if we draw near to God, He will draw near to us (See James 4:8). One of the best ways to do this is to listen to God by reading and studying God’s Word in the Bible. Try not to miss a day without having had some spiritual food to chew on!
